I’ve asked the question and he’s definitely interested in the laptop more. What would be the next upgrade from the build you quoted to improve running Microsoft Flight Simulator that extra bit better.

In my opinion, the Ryzen 9 3900 is a bit overkill for games and a Ryzen 7 3700x would do just fine. But it's only around £50 more anyway, so if you can afford it, that would be absolutely the best gaming "laptop" you could get right now at around £1500.

Perfect. The only thing I'll add, in case I haven't mentioned it before, is if you have a device that you're retiring, you can legally transfer the license across to this and save some money there.

I would drop the 3900 to the 3700X (Or the 3800X if it's available?). Reason being the 3900 is the fat free version that has lower peak frequencies etc. Simulators still love the higher frequency.

Above would be what I would consider the ideal starting point for FS2020. 3700X is a close alternative though.

As above, the 3700X and the 2070 is a great combination. I would also add more storage, just 1 512GB drive might not cut it after a while. Not sure on MSFS but may P3D installation is approx 200GB

Looks good to me. You would need to call PCS and ask, we don't actually work for PCS. I don't think I've heard of there being a discount but you never know unless you ask

Just think about what your main usage would be. If you're only interested in gaming, the GPU is usually the bottleneck on laptops, so the CPU has less impact on gaming performance (in my opinion). You would be better with a higher-tier GPU and a mid CPU, but also bear in mind that the thermal performance is another very important factor on laptops.

So in actual fact I would be better buying a Proteus Vlll with the rtx 2070 super, if it was mainly for gaming?
