Gaming laptop help

Ok so i need a new laptop (Or desktop , If its cheaper but considering i need a monitor , mouse and keyboard i doubt it) , The things i need it for include :

All basic functions (Surfing web , Music , Watching movies , Word etc)
Design work / Uni work (Photoshop , Illustrater , In design)
Gaming (Call of duty games , Including Black ops 3 , CS:GO maybe , DayZ , Fifa 16)

So the budget im looking at is the lowest i can make it while doing all of these things , Im looking at around £700 , Ive seen you can order already made laptops which are cheaper / faster to come , havent really played around with the custom ones but im hoping you guys can point me towards the right direction.

So

Laptop or PC? (I dont have any mouse / monitor etc)
Custom , Or premade?

What are my best options?
Thanks

Ok cool looks like a good build , That will handle everything i want?
Also is it a PC that is going to last? , Not going to have to replace parts to keep up with games etc? (Though im not one to play the newer games anyway , Other than Cods/Fifas)

Ive seen in the already made section they have Intel i5 computers for under £700 , Would this be better?
Ive always used Intel and been recommended to stay away from AMD though im not up to date with specs so may be wrong?

Thanks for the build , Looks good , that will be able to handle everything yeah? , Would i need to do any upgrades soon?

Ive never really used AMD (Been recommended not too) and there are premade options with Intel i5s for under £700 , Would that be a better option?

Your budget is the limiting factor to what build you can have. You can only get mid/low end components for that kind of cash. You would need to think about upgrading after maybe 2 years to cope with games. Processor around the same period.

Nvidia is definitely preferable over amd (controversial ) but not within your budget.

This is another option for gaming, with an intel skylake i3.
There are some gaming benches here showing the i3 and some other CPUs:
http://pclab.pl/art66945-14.html
It seems to perform better than an FX 6300 pretty well across the board in games (note that they're benching the CPUs with a 980ti to avoid GPU bottlenecks)
A GTX 960 should handle even very demanding games on medium-high settings at 1080p res. It'll handle many games on ultra.

Going to an i5 would be an extra £34.

What kind of spec would i be looking at if i went this route? , I only wanted £700 really but could maybe stretch it to get a intel build.

You can do a half decent intel build for less than £700, as above. Stock intel cooler and paste would be fine for an i3. You can bump up to an i5 6400 for another £34 (£726).

Agreed. Indeed you can already see pretty huge differences with Total War titles that I hear are quite CPU heavy (and though there are some MMO type games that might prefer the i3's single core performance, hopefully in time they'll make use of more cores). Also, i5 will probably help for design work and so forth.

Ok cool , So the spec you posted , Bumped up to a I5 for just over £700 would be ideal for me it seems?
Nothing lacking with that build?

Cheers for the help guys , Really appreciate it.

Pushing it to the most basic i5, a decent cooler (dragonfly) and some Arctic paste takes it to £750.

Cool sounds good , Thats sorted then?
Should be fine for everything i need and shouldent need to be upgraded too soon.
only just over budget

Will be purchasing it in the next week when i get paid , Any more reccomendations in the meantime are welcome.

Im thinking of having the one monitor for the main use (Photo editing / gaming etc) and then plugging it into a tv as well to put music / movies on etc while im doing work or whatever.

Then later on add in another monitor instead of the TV , Would this computer work with multiple monitors?

Master
The 960 has connections for HDMI, Dvi and 2 DP I believe she multi monitor is fine depending on your connections

Sorry i meant in terms of performance? , Ive never done multiple monitors so im not sure about the performance issues or anything with doing that.

Ill be using DVI and HDMI most likely.
