gaming laptop on a budget

Hi i am new to pc gaming and have found my current laptop is unable to run even the most basic of games. I would love a destop but dont have the space in my small house so a laptop it is! I am looking to spend £900-£1000 as i am on a tight budget being a uk Firefighter with the pay freeze! the laptop would be purely for gaming and if you have any suggestions on how to save on this spec without heavily effecting gaming performance it would be greatly appreciated,

I'd suggest a Scorpio black as the main drive an at least silver warranty for £5. Sorry but I am not sure where you can cut cost without affecting performance.

drop the RAM down to 1333MHz, you wont see any difference in game performance compared to 1600MHz. also, get the silver warranty for £5, it's a small amount for a lot of peace-of-mind

and as Ruben has said, you should get a 7200 RPM drive, perhaps the 500GB Scorpio Black.

it makes a huge difference, if you can afford a smaller SSD even - the difference makes it well worth it.

if you are not planning on storing much then a 128 gb ssd would be highly recommended - unleash the power of that beast!

but a 7200 rpm would be a huge improvement if you cannot make your budget work to an SSD.
