Gaming Laptop Spec Advice Please.

So my gaming laptop I bought from PC Specialist 4 and a half years ago (in my sig) has been amazing and is still working like the day I got it, other than the battery which is now useless.
I’ve just started Uni and it’s become immediately apparently that my current laptop is a nightmare to lug around. Far too big and heavy.
I’m looking for something a little less large if possible and definitely a lot lighter!
I still want to be able to game on it though... as I don’t want to be switching between two laptops. My other half is now working in China so travelling back and forth quite a lot is not practical with 2 laptops (I had thought of a cheap one for uni work and keeping my gaming laptop).

Budget is around £1,300. Less would be great and more would need to be justified. I got great help and advice when I asked on here many years ago, so hopefully I’ll get the same again! Thanks everyone.

Recoil seems like a good fit.

If you check the reviews page: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/reviews/

You'll see a number of Recoil specs. The review specs have fixed specs and discounted prices.

Check this one: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/configure-review/264/
Which is the bit-tech review version. i7 8750H, 16gb RAM, 500gb 970 Pro, 1TB HDD, GTX 1060.

It's effectively an upgrade from the same spec with a 256gb 970 Evo to a 500gb 970 Pro for less than £30 and is, imo, the best Recoil deal on that page as well as being a solid spec.

Thanks, there's a couple of things missing from the pre-built ones such as the Killer wireless card.

Am I likely to see an improvement in performance with a spec like these over my current laptop? Or will it be negligible?

Negligible at best.

The Killer vs Intel thing is a subject of hot debate via keyboards the world over. But I can't recall people complaining the Intel cards have been inadequate for gaming uses on this forum.
