Looks solid to me, next upgrade could be the HDD to a hybrid but that would probably bring you out of budget, you could drop the cpu one notch as you aren't going to notice any difference in gaming between the 2.2 and 2.4GHz cpus.

Thanks for your help. What HDD upgrade would you recommend?
By dropping down to 2.2 cpu the cost comes down by more than a £100.

Thanks, is there another laptop that will allow the 570m to be specified and allow the GPU to be upgraded in the future?
The other laptops I can see at pcspecialist have the 560 or 580 choice. Why not allow the 570?

It is the chassis, laptop chassis are very particular to the mobo. It is hard to change parts in them. The fact that one chassis can take the choice of the three cards (6990, 560 and 580) is quite amazing. PCS just don't stock another chassis that has a 570 gpu. The chassis that allows the other two cards just doesn't fit the 570.

Having checked the chassis, the 570M is actually connected using an MXM slot so can infact be upgraded at a later date, providing the card you install has the same thermal requirements and one is available. :)

Really? So you mean we could put a 580m into the skyfire chassis?

Changed the cpu to the 2.2GHz from 2.4GHz

For the memory, best to stick to 8GB or could I go down to 4GB?

Looks good to me, I would stick with 8GB but 4GB will be fine if you want to. Skyfires are running out so you will need to order very quickly, I don't know when the estimated date of actually running out is though or how many are left.

The chassis uses an MXM port so in theory yes you can add a GTX 580M. However, we have not tested this and we would need to check the thermal implications - it may be that the cooling on the SkyFire cannot handle a 580M. We don't plan to list the 580M as an option.
