For the storage drive a 7200rpm would be better, not a major thing but I did notice a benefit when using the slightly faster HDDs.

Build looks solid, there are a couple of things I would change though.
What is your budget?
What sort of games do you play? e.g Cyberpunk, FPS, RTS, MSFS
What monitor do you have? Make/model or resolution and refresh rate would be handy to know.

Im stretching my budget a little with the build
cyberpunk, also looking at upcoming titles like Dying light 2, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Max settings
1080p 144hz. Though im looking to change within 6 months - 1 year to QHD or 4K.

So this build is without a GPU at the moment, we can add that in when we work out which monitor you're going to pick and if you want Ray-Tracing or not.
16GB of RAM is fine for gaming unless you're looking at playing MSFS. It's also a really easy upgrade if you want to move to 32 down the line. PCS have an open case policy so you're fine to upgrade it yourself.
Buffed your storage a little to have a super fast 980 pro for your OS and programs, a 1tb m.2 for your games library, and a HDD for general storage.
Buffed PSU to a Fully Modular design that also has room for GPU upgrades down the line.
This build should last you 7-10 years, but within that you'll need a couple of GPU upgrades to keep playing the latest, most demanding games at max settings (eg Cyberpunk, The Medium etc)

What you are going to be getting monitor-wise will dictate the build really...1440p 144Hz and 4k 144Hz are a big difference. The 3070 will handle 4k 60Hz but you really need a 3080 for high-end 4k.

Then there is the question of Ray-Tracing as some games are more demanding than others..for example, the Medium (just released) needs a 3080 for RTX and high game settings

Probably looking at 1440p. Biggest monitor I can get is 32", is 1440p the sweet spot at this size or will I notice 4k?

Most would argue that 32" 1440p is the sweet spot (well, unless you could afford the £1200 for a 49" 1440p Superwide of course).

4k is a different matter...personally, I am of the opinion that 4k is wasted on anything less than 40" in size...but others would argue that it looks good on a 27" or 32" screen. Having said that, I am spoilt for choice as I have a 32" 1440p monitor and a 55" 4k TV and the graphics difference is surprisingly wide.

I think ultimately, it depends on how much you are willing to spend on the bits needed...if you want to do 4k properly (4k 144Hz), then you would need the 3080 (£200 more than the 3070) plus probably £800 for the monitor. For 1440p, the 3070 is plenty and the monitor probably around £500

And then there is still the Ray-Tracing consideration...if you want to use it, then I'd probably aim a bit higher than normal. The Medium, for example, which has just been released may be a sign of what is coming and it's requirements are quite high:

I think 1440p is good for now. If I go for the 3080 with that, should be future proof for a good while. I'm at 1080 for now anyway so I should notice the difference coming from that.
