Gaming PC - Request for Recommendation

I would like to purchase a gaming PC as a gift for my girlfriend. I know nothing about Windows or gaming and would be grateful for a recommendation. Here are the criteria:

- She would like to use Steam, and to play Baldur's Gate 3.
- She would like pink LEDs.
- She already has a work monitor (iiyama G-MASTER GB2730QSU 2560x1440 75Hz), keyboard, and mouse. So I would like to get a KVM switch.
- Should I order Windows 10 or 11?
- Any other criteria that I should consider?
- My budget is £2,000 max. But no point in spending money for the sake of it so if I could spend less on a machine that plays Baldurs Gate comfortably then that would be great!

I would be grateful for any recommendations.

We'd need to know tge budget and what make and model monitor is being used?

Many thanks for getting back to me. The monitor is the iiyama GB2730QSU and my budget is £2,000, I added that to my OP.

The monitor is going to severely restrict a modern PC at this budget, it's only 1080p 75Hz and TN at that.

We can either spec a system limited to that monitor or suggest upgrading to a decent 1440p included in the budget?

Sorry, it is 1440p 75hz, there seem to be bad entries returning in Google.

It would still be worth upgrading the monitor to a decent IPS 144hz, will vastly improve the overall experience.

I would be interested to hear what you recommend for a monitor.

Her current setup is a work laptop and monitor connected to a docking station - no PC. So potentially we could put the work monitor aside and use only the new gaming monitor. When working she would connect the work laptop to the docking station, for gaming she would connect the gaming PC. If that's feasible then there would be no need for a KVM switch. The docking station is Mac, compatible with Windows.

Hi, while we wait for @SpyderTracks, I'd recommend the LG Ultragear (LG27GN850) or the Samsung Odyssey G5 (S27AG502).
Obviously it is dependent on your budget. :)

This would be my monitor suggestion, the Gigabyte M27Q(P) which is the later version of it, it's a great monitor, believe it or not it includes a KVM switch built in, it's full IPS as well, hits extremely high for the budget

This is where I'd land with the PC, this will get around 100fps at 1440p in most titles, peaking more like the 144fps, in Baldurs Gate 3 specifically you'd be looking around 80fps

It has RGB on the case fans, RGB on the cooler, and the RAM, and you can select any colour you like through iCue, or have pretty patterns, you can even have the colours custom to that particular game you're playing all done automatically by iCue
