This pc i built for playing mostly real time strategy and turn based strategy Games:

The command and conquer series games (ALL First decade titles, c and c 3, ra3 plus c and c 4).
The supreame commander titles (Supcom+forged allience and supcom2).
The Total war series (will probally just buy the Total war mega pack + shogun 2) from steam.
The Sid Meiers Civilisation series (also including Alpha centari).

And a Whole Bunch of dusty older games that allways worked on windows xp :D

I Allways Fist time play ALL games on the lowest graphics and performance settings before experimenting with higher settings i am just happy about the fact they work and have decent gameplay rather than worrying about these settings its more like instinct to set these to the lowest settings after installation.

Anyways any comments on the pc before i order sometime in late january?

The graphics card that you've selected is very anemic, I'm not sure what your budget is but I wouldn't get anything less than a HD6770 for gaming.

A couple of things:

1) Your graphics card is not suitable for gaming and it will struggle to keep up playable framerates, sometimes even on lowest graphic settings. I would go for a 6670 or 6770 if you can afford it.

2) You should upgrade the warranty to Silver for £5, it's a must-have

3) You may want to upgrade the case to a Cooler Master 310 Elite case, this will look after your parts much better

4) Is there a reason why you have chosen Windows XP? I would guess it's due to the "old" games. Well, yes because they are old they might say they need XP to run, but they will work fine on windows 7 aswell! And future games will not run on XP (a few years on), so I really can't see a reason to get XP.

5) If you can afford the upgrade, I would change the processor to the 955 not the 960t

6) If you want faster loading times in games (and other programs, and files) and faster boot times, get a Seagate Barracuda 500gb

7) You really do not need that Corsair power supply, that is massive overkill and ups the cost of the PC by a lot. If you use the advice I'm giving you, you will only need a 450W

8) Its up to you, but whilst 4gb RAM is fine at the moment, it won't be long before 8gb will come in handy for gamers, so I would think about getting 8gb for future-proofing.

Hope this helps! :)

Never trust Win7 Home to run pre-Vista software. Some of it won't install, never mind run. Win7 Professional might manage it though, or so I was told.

No, Premium will run it fine.

Stronghold 2 requires a .dll which my copy of Premium doesn't have. The original Dungeon Siege starts well but I can't play it. I get a stop message when I try to install X2 The Threat.

I too posted a spec with XP in it for software compatibility reasons. I was persuaded to give Win7 Professional a try but I haven't bought it yet so I can't make promises.
