What will I use it for:

Star Wars the old republic - ultra settings: My main game, and always wanted to play it on ultra.

Additionals that may matter:

Fallout 4 & COD: infinite warfare.

Planning on buying SW: BF2 when that comes out ( some degree of future proofing also to be calculated? )

What's your budget? There are some obvious tweaks that come to mind.

Before the obvious tweaks, would like to send back to OP, where i acknowledge some lackings that will be rectified later on in time.

The most obvious suggestions were going to be a larger PSU for more upgrade headroom, and a better SSD as the UV400 is slower than the better Sata ones.


If you can go to ~£1300 you might consider trading in the GPU for a better base build. Something with a Z270 mobo which has things like support for faster DDR4 (which FO4 can benefit from significantly), plus M.2 SSD slots that give you access to even faster SSDs than the regular Sata ones.:


You could also go for a more powerful CPU, which again FO4 can benefit from:

I'm not sure if SWOTR would make full use of of a GTX 1070 anyway. I believe that it, like many older MMOs, is more prone to being CPU bound in which case the better single threaded performance of the more expensive CPU and the RAM may well help (as it does in FO4).

Also, when you come to upgrade the GPU as you inevitably will do, the better platform will help avoid bottlenecks. A 1060 is still enough to run most modern games on ultra or pretty high settings.
