Gaming/Video Editing Laptop

Good afternoon,

My partner is looking for a new laptop in the £600-£1000 range that can cope with both gaming and video editing. Doesn't need to be ultra settings for gaming. The budget is not firm but would like to keep the cost as low as possible without compromising on the quality. Only must have is a large screen.

Video editing and gaming requires good processing and also require a good graphic card.
I think this would be a good configuration for what you asking but is just my opinion:

I think wither a Vyper or Optimus chassis would be a much better bet, as the GTX 1050 is a weak graphics card to be looking at in the £1000 range. A 1050 ti is ~35% more powerful than a 1050 in laptops. And since you cannot upgrade the GPU, probably best to get the best GPU you can afford at the outset.

The sooner your GPU struggles to run modern titles or with video editing, the sooner you need to buy a new system. If you need a large screen and will be using the system in one place very often e.g. home /office then consider getting an external monitor. You can often find 24" IPS 1080p monitors for ~£80 on sales.
