Well, I can say it's actually really easy. You just do one screw, pull the thing out, and reverse that process once you've installed your extra HDD. Only problem I've found is that it's a really spacious thing - the drive can wobble quite far vertically when you're moving the laptop. It should be easily remedied with some carefully-positioned tissue paper, though.
Can I ask what sort of screwdriver you used to release the optical drive bay? I can't get any phillips ones to work on the screw, even though they're more than happy with every other screw on the underside of the laptop...
