GPU help needed

Hi all,

Recently got a much beefier system but I'm having trouble with the GPU specifically, igpu and mobo seem fine anyways, yet if the gpu is inserted and powered there is no display to my monitor,
All the fans are spinning (chassi, CPU and GPU) at start up, but the monitor doesn't´t seem to get any signal regardless of if I have the cable connected to mobo or GPU, with hdmi and display cable.

I've tried a few things so far but can't do much when I can't even see bios with GPU on.

The issue seems to only pop up when gpu is powered. Any suggestions on what might be the problem that I can check, before I contact PCSPECIALIST tomorrow?

Regards,
Chris

Has the system never worked? If it has, what changed that stopped it from working? Was there any settings changes or updates?

It kind of worked originally, got over eager and used older TV as monitor which caused some visual issues, but not much else,
Got a proper monitor and games specifically were super laggy, checked drivers, benchmark and AMD weren't picking up the GPU, restarted and no display, reseated everything, after that even having GPU powered stoped whole system displaying at all.

I can use it now but only with IGPU and hdmi connected to motherboard, GPU seems dead

You may be lucky, are there a series of beeps when you boot it with the GPU installed?

If not, it suggests that perhaps it is showing a display, but you're not seeing it.

3 possible things to try:

1/. Another cable

2/. Make sure the monitor is on the correct channel]

3/. Try booting on the iGPU, go into the BIOS and change

Disable CSM

Go to Advanced Menu
Onboard devices configuration
Switch PCIEX16_1 to X16 rather than Auto

Then boot again on the igpu and run DDU to completely remove the AMD driver: https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller-download/

Then boot of the AMD GPU and try installing the latest driver

Not seeming to have much luck sadly,
Apparently I only have x8 or raid, and CSM was disabled.

Regardless I used ddu and wiped drivers, but the issue is still persistent, fans and led powered but 0 signal.

There was 1 beep if that means anything at all. But it's looking a little grim.

Did you try a different cable?

1 beep is a successful post so does suggest it may be working ok.

Try it back in your tv as well

Sorry for the delayed response,

Tried display cable and another hdmi, both on new monitor and old TV.

Beeps confused me too since all should be fine. I'm lost at this point

Damn, that’s unfortunate.

PCS are open tomorrow, maybe worth giving them a call first thing if you can, let me just find their opening hours over the Christmas period

So yep, they’re back to normal except closed next Monday for New Year’s Day, otherwise open 9am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturday.

Slight update, I went to remove GPU before calling, since I would probably need to send it off anyways.

But now it won't even display when cable is connected to the motherboard, so the GPU needs to be inserted but not powered for it to display, what is going on?
Since it should be fine regardless and nothing is technically wrong with GPU anyways.
Gives 1 long beep and 3 short beeps with it fully removed

Said I'd ask here first before calling,
Thanks for the help so far regardless.
