GT 650M overheating issue

Hello all,

I have posted about this before but I understood less and I have complicated the post by posting various bits of obsolete information.

The problem I'm having is that when I put my GPU under stress, not ridiculous amounts of stress just 'gaming', and it reaches high temperatures, the fans go crazy and then it overheats. This takes place over a couple of minutes, if even that.

It happens on most games, even on very low settings - GRFS (Ghost Recon Future Soldier) did this on 1024x768 and all settings set to the lowest possible.

It is a 11.6' inferno, with Quad I7's and 8GB of ram. It also has the 'special' arctic cooling paste (or whatever the specific name is).

The laptop has been an absolute beauty bar this problem, and I've tried various solutions (Settings changes, Cooling fans, GPU status monitoring, stress tests etc.)

Any ideas on how to fix this? Would it be possible to limit the GPU to running at 90% of the cutout temperature?

Thanks for your time
Connor
