GTX 1080 with VGA monitor

I am just starting to set up my new PC and need some advice. I have an nVidia GTX 1080 graphics card, which has a DVI-D port, an HDMI port and 3 DP ports I think. I am using a Dell e173fp monitor, details as follows:

What is the best way to connect this monitor to the graphics card? Assuming I can use some sort of adapter, am I best to go for DVI-D to VGA, HDMI to VGA or DP to DGA? Can anyone recommend a suitable product?

If that's your only monitor you should buy a new one. GTX 1080 @ 1280 x 1024 >.< Why... just why..

If it's a secondary monitor you are using to have a web page open on or something, then any adapter cable off any random website you like ought to do the trick. Just make sure it has reasonably positive user reviews. e.g. something like:

Please don't say that's your primary monitor, just ditch it now.

Anything under 1440p is wasted on a 1080.
