GTX660ti or 2 GTX550ti (using SLI)

So I was configuring a new gaming desktop and I was deciding which GPU to use. I was originally planning on using the GTX660ti but I found out I could two GTX550ti's and still remain within my budget. I plan on playing games such as shogun 2, wargame European escalation maybe even some first person shooters. I hope to max out the graphics on these games and hopefully any future releases. If you think different graphics card would be better please say so. Thanks in advance :)

I'd go with one strong GPU, SLI will generate more heat and require more power. What is your budget?

This would allow you to SLI another 670 graphics card in future,if that's not your intention I would downgrade the motherboard & PSU & upgrade the hard disk, also might be worth considering upgrading the case.

Get the Monitor, keyboard, mouse and speakers first so you have nothing else to worry about. It shouldn't cost more then £100 - £200 depending on the monitor and speakers

1080 screen included, can get a lower res 18.5" and save about £20 more, your choice, Cut the card down to a 660TI and, changed the HD type and lower the PSU to a 650w. The system as is only requires 412w of power and a second GeForce 660TI will need 150w so you should be able to SLI 2 660's at a later date. Would suggest just ordering a cheap keyboard and mouse and your sound system from amazon or using an older set if you have one :)

I would go with the 660ti, it's actually a really great card and I think would blow two 550ti's out the water.

i haven't got the 660ti but i did have a 550ti and I did do research on getting another one and going for sli, the 660ti will give better all round performance than 2x 550ti
