That’s your answer then, you’d need to repaste.

You need to be doing that once a year on a gaming laptop to keep temps optimal.

The first thing I'd check is if the fans are all running. I don't know how easy it is to take the cover off the under-side, it's pretty easy on my Vortex (Clevo). Or you could just check that warm air is coming out of all the vents.
Is there some software that would show the fan status?

There is, but they aren't all entirely reliable:

Somehow I doubt that my fan is going at nearly 10 million RPM.

I just tried HWMonitor, that doesn't show fan speeds. Maybe my 7.5 year old machine doesn't support fan speed reporting.

So i bought a laptop from PCS for around £1500 last year, everything with it has been amazing but around 3 months ago the laptop has been getting really hot and fps in games has been dropping by like 80% every now 5-10 minutes, only happens for around 30 seconds but is really annoying, paid for extra themral paste when i ordered so dont know why im having this issue

When you repasted what are the new temps?

Haven't repasted as i don't want to open the laptop and damage it
Ok, if it's getting to 89c just opening a couple of programs, there's obviously a paste issue.

If you keep using it while it's at those temps, it will burn out very quickly, can't make that clear enough, you shouldn't use it at all until you've addressed the thermals.

You need to repaste it as a first thing.

Repasting is very easy to do, takes about 30 mins. If you're uncomfortable doing it then create an RMA and get PCS to do it, but it will take up to a month for an RMA.

Again, don't use it at the moment, it will burn out and fail.

you have already said to repaste it, my question is why should i be paying to repaste it when i paid so much for this just 1 year ago, surely the paste should still be okay? especially paying more for the better paste

On any performance laptop you will need to repaste it about once a year to keep temps optimal. A laptop is exposed to far higher temps than a desktop and as such the thermal paste degrades a lot quicker. It's standard maintenance.

Thermal Grizzly Kyronaut is generally considered the best and isn't expensive for a one time application:

Or you can get a larger tube for multiple applications:
