HD Monitor

I have a 23 inch Fujitsu monitor.

Is it necessary to have a HD connection to game with or is the pin connection ok?

Looking at getting r9-280 or 770 gpu.

Max res is 1680 x 1050

Would I have to connect it via a HDMI cable to the gpu or would a normal pin connection be suitable for gaming?

Will there be any difference in picture quality?

By normal pin connection do you mean a dvi or VGA cable? If your monitor supports HD then I assume either connection will support HD.

Ok, I am going with an amd 6300 and r9-280 with a new monitor, budget wont stretch to the i5-4570 and 770 gpu. Do you think I will have a few years of good gaming with that?

Is it worth going for the r9-270 to cut budget for gaming?
