Help on how to configure boot order sequence

Hi I hope you can offer me some help or tell me where I can find it.
I have a PCSpecialist laptop:

  • Optimus Series: 17.3" Matte Full HD LED Widescreen (1920x1080)
  • Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™i7 Quad Core Mobile Processor i7-4870HQ (3.7GHz Turbo,Iris™ Pro)

It doesn't have an integral dvd drive so when I made my recovery device I used a USB card.
I have checked the bios and the usb is listed as the fourth option.

My question is, if I get a major problem whereby I wish to use the USB to reboot my laptop (before recovering my system from my back-up (on and external drive)) what boot sequence should I set the bios to?
At present the sequence is
1) SSD
2) some sort of code including IPV4
3) some sort of code including IPV6
4) USB
My instinct suggests putting the usb first but I read on another thread that this can slow down a normal boot-up and I usually have an empty external DVD Drive connected via a USB port.

Thanks for reading all help appreciated.
John
