Help with a new desktop please.

Hi all, I am finally in a position to order a new PC, I've been watching YT for inspiration but I'm just overwhelmed and don't want to make a mistake when there are so many people on here with superior knowledge :)

I am looking to upgrade my old desktop with something that can run games like Apex, PubG etc without a problem.

I don't need flashy lights or pretty cases

I'm happy with my current monitor, mouse and keyboard

My budget is £1500 though there is some room for movement if you think it would help ;)

If you can offer any suggestion I'd be really grateful

Thanks (y)

Here is my current spec, don't laugh - it's old, like me 👴

We simply can't recommend that monitor mate, trying to game on 60Hz on PC just isn't a good experience you'll also be hamstringing any GPU we would recommend. Essentially your monitor will be the big bottleneck in your system because it wont be able to display the frames that the PC is generating. Let me see what I can put together and I'll leave room to order a new monitor as well, ideally you'd want a 1440p 144hz to be up to date but I'll aim for 1080p 144hz for now, give me a few minutes

Can I be cheeky and ask you to recommend a monitor for me to go with this?

Yeah sure mate, what you want is a 1080p 144hz IPS panel from a repuatable brand. It really helps to shop around with monitors as there are always different deals going from different sites. I'd be aiming at the below but then I'd have a look to see if any site has any of the below brands on special offer that still have the requirements I need (1080p 144hz IPS) sizewise 24" is the sweet spot for pixel saturation on a 1080p panel but I'm personally fine with a 27". Some people don't like it and think it stretches the pixels too much on a larger panel but I generally think it's fine

Brands it's hard to go wrong with Samsung, ASUS, Gigabyte, AOC, BenQ, Dell, ACER, Iiyama and MSI are personal recommendations. I'm sure there are more but this is a good bunch

Awesome, my eyesight is gradually getting worse sadly, so I will go for the 27" (I wonder if 3" can make all the difference) version on the link you sent, thanks again for your help
