Help with monitor choice please :)

Hey people :)
Any advice much appreciated on which monitor to choose.
My poor old monitor died. Please ignore my ignorance if I state some nonsense. Unless you tell me otherwise, I believe I can push 1440p with RTX2060 with decent fps. I understand that not much point to go significantly above 100 Hz.
My ideal preference would be ultrawide - I really would like to experience that huge screen. Mainly play WOW, The Witcher and similar - not high end competitive level. I thought about LG UltraGear 32GP850 then MSI Optix MAG274QRF-QD on smaller side. In both cases I have concern about contrast and black being gray in dark room (generally play in dark or slightly lit room). I don't want to compromise on HDR/contrast performance. I'm considering AW3423DW or AW3821DW as well if anyone has any input.

But then I saw Samsung Odyssey Neo AG95 LS49AG950NUXXU 1000R D QHD Curved Gaming - now I know this is overkill due to 240Hz but the size is amazing, obviously expensive £1500. I guess my main question is: is it a waste of money to get the Samsung LS49 given my setup below, given that I really am after widest I can get with good performance? Or any other suggestions please?
Thank you for any advice:)

My setup is as below:
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Six Core CPU (3.7GHz-4.6GHz/35MB CACHE/AM4)
ASUS® TUF GAMING B550-PLUS (DDR4, USB 3.2, 6Gb/s) - ARGB Ready!
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE RGB PRO DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2060 - HDMI, DP - VR Ready!

The RTX 2060 is 2 generations old now, even when it was new it was a basic 1080p card.

It won't be capable of 1440p without heavily reducing settings.

But the G9 is 2 x 1440p anyway, it's same as 2 1440p monitors across, so you'd need a far more powerful card to run it

But what's you overall budget for the monitor / upgrades?

And can you post your full specs from the order page please?

Hi thanks for reply and for the reality check My budget depends on the quality of the monitor - I'm happy to pay £1k - 2k if really huge quality difference. But if the difference is very small or not detectable by human eye then prefer cheaper option. Hope it makes sense. Please see the full spec below (I have 3 additional SSDs connected to this PC I had from before - probably not relevant much to this).

Ok, so on the plus side, it's a well configured platform that can support some pretty strong upgrades to GPU.

The monitor you referenced is insanely good, I really do mean that, it's something that you have to physically be in front of to appreciate just how good it really is. It's more like being in VR than on a normal monitor, it's so immersive. It's a superwide screen which is 5120 x 1440 ( 2 x 1440p)

But, it's incredibly expensive and needs a top tier GPU to run it. The GPU alone is going to cost around £800 up to £1300 really, so it rather puts it out of budget.

BUT, there's a good inbetweener which is still one of the best gaming monitors on the market at the moment which is an Ultrawide 3440 x 1440 (1.5 x 1440p) at £930 direct from Dell, it's the Alienware DW3423DWF

This then gives you a good £1000 to buy either a 3080ti or a 7900XTX GPU which would absolutely smash it, and up the PSU to a 1200w or 1000w to give better headroom on the GPU, although if you went with the 7900XTX then the current PSU may be enough.

Or if you still wanted Superwide, you could factor in the original G9 which is around £1000

Just in case you're interested, I bought the basic G9 listed above last year and it's the best gaming related purchase I've ever made, there's a thread on it here if you're interested

I'm really thankful for this great info. TBH I did not consider upgrade - thought I would need new mother board as well etc. I will see what the options are from Pc specialist as I'm bit reluctant to do the upgrade myself (replacement of GPU etc) for fear of messing something up. But it's logical to do it. I'll check the G9 resource you added as well :)

You can send the build back to PCS and they'll upgrade the GPU and PSU for you obviously for a small fee, I don't think it costs much, and you'd get good price on the components.

Just wanted to add, most of those monitor links are currently on offer after Christmas period, expect those prices to rise possibly after January.

But then again, with new monitors being announced at CES next week, it's even possible they'll reduce.

It's a bit of a minefield. I live in a permanent state of FOMO (fear of missing out), so I tend to leap on things asap. But realise that's because I'm a little mental.

Thank you. I can see some discounts but it's nothing I would be too concerned about. I got some wiggle room and need to make sure I make the right decision with this. My budget depends on what I'm willing to purchase (with some limits ofc), not what I can, so I got options. Might be crazy enough to even consider building something new high-end via PC Specialist from the scratch..
And I'm confident I can compete with anyone in the discipline of 'being mental', so no judgment here :D
