Help with PC prebuilt

Hello, i brought a prebuilt from PC Specialist last year, and ive had a few problems with FPS which i cant get my head around. Ive been reading about XMP and over clocking but have zero experience with it. I tired enabling XMP in the bios which was causing BSOD with MEMORY_MANAGEMENT stop codes, so i turned that off again and the pc is stable, but then im struggling to hit anything over 100+fps.

As a side note, i have tried changing the VRAM in the XMP profile to 5200mhz and 5000mhz which has still caused crashes but not as frequent.

Urm, when you say you're having FPS issues, what game is this in and what make and model monitor are you using?

Did you order the PC with or without windows as you haven't posted your full specs?

It should already have XMP set to 5600MHz? You can't go over that as the RAM is only rated for 5600MHz.

Escape from Tarkov, my monitor is a Samsung G7

Windows 11 is installed sorry.

Yes the default XMP profile was set too 5600mhz, which when enabled seems to crash the pc (not 100% if thats the cause) and ive tried the vram on 5200 and 5000 which as stated still crashes. when XMP is turned off though, the system is stable but i feel like i maybe could be getting more FPS with the power of the PC?

Which one? 4k or 1440p?

But did you order it with windows or install your own?

So it was crashing when you received it straight on first boot?

Could you post your optional updates screenshot?
1440p at 240hz

The PC come with windows 11 installed, but it had a faulty SSD which was replaced (crashes happening before and after the SDD replacement) and i installed a fresh copy of windows 11 and installed the drivers ect..

The pc did crash a few times in the first few months of owning it, which i spoke to pc specialist about but nothing really come of it at the time after doing tests on memory and other things and they come to the conclusion it was a corrupted windows install, cut a long story short, they sent me a replacement SSD in which i installed as mentioned above. After that there was a couple of months in which i didnt use the pc bcz of working away from home. After returning and playing again everything seemed stable but i was struggling with FPS and performance which is when i looked into the XMP and experienced the more frequent crashes.

As i side note i used to have a gaming laptop which ran Escape from tarkov at around 90fps on the same settings as im running now.

ive seen other people running the game at over 300fps with very similar builds too mine, but my pc struggles to hit 100fps. I know there could be alot of factors too why there getting better performance, but mine just seems very low.

Im not sure what you mean by optional updates? on the pc build or?

What method did you take to clean install and where did you source drivers?

yeah, from windows updates
USB fresh install from windows website as advised by PCS Rep.

drivers were from asus, nvida and intel.

But what process did you go through to install windows?

It's best to let windows update find drivers these days rather than manually installing them.
i downloaded the windows install file onto the USB flash drive, once the new SSD arrived, i then went ahead and installed windows onto the drive following the steps. i cant recall any hick ups with it.

majority of the drivers were installed when installing the fresh copy of windowns and i just updated the nvidia drivers and asus ones as instructed by said PCS rep.

could there be some problem in this as to why im getting memory management BSOD crashes while XMP is enabled? im abit lost.

The first thing we need to rule out is software.

I’d suggest a clean install, delete all partitions , let windows update install all driver accept NVIDIA gpu.

i mean i can do this if needs be, but i have already done this bcz its what PCS rep advised. the crashes continued after the fresh install which to me is telling me its not the software, but if you deem necessary i can reinstall fresh.

If you wanted to work with PCS on it, that's fine.

If you wanted to work through with us, then we would start from scratch as we have no idea what's been done before or how, or what software has been installed.

You need to start troubleshooting from a clean install and then we can go from there, otherwise software could be a factor.

Okay, I’ll get on doing that today and let you know how things go

Just for the future, It's RAM, not VRAM, VRAM is the RAM on GPUs.

And if you could do the following:

open the Control Panel and clicked on Programs>Uninstall a program and then choose how you want to view them

Choose View>List.

Then take a screenshot and upload it

Then could you go into the BIOS and reset all settings to default, then set XMP back to 5600MHz.

Then try running a stress with Furmark for around 10 minutes at native resolution: https://geeks3d.com/furmark/
