Help with pc spec

Hi guys, was wondering if I could have some feedback for a new spec. I'm a software engineer, and will spend a lot of time using this pretty intensely- want something powerful + fast. Not too worried about the RAM at the mo as I can easily change that in the future. I may do some gaming on it but its not really an issue. Although I spend my life on computers I have a shamefully lacking knowledge of the actual hardware! I am especially interested for feedback for the motherboard and gpu, and for whether this is overpowered in one area but lacking somewhere else. And I just chose a cooling system at random...

If you are planning to also play more demanding games I would go with the gtx 770, if not you could downgrade to the r9-270x

Awesome thanks so much for taking time to look at if for me :) don't need the OS, but will need to add a monitor.

What is the difference between the amd processor and the i7 one you chose? I know the amd has 8 cores (although I dont really see the point in this :/ ) and is 4.4 instead of 3.4ghz, but I know that doesn't mean it is better... why did you suggest the i7 instead?

Also could you explain a bit why you chose that graphics card- did you just chose a decent mid range one?

thanks again for your help :)

For the money that processor costs you can get a better intel one. Intel CPUs are a lot better at single threaded applications and run cooler.
