I just ordered a pc but after I ordered I just noticed that google chrome Had a red cross over the secure connection by the address :s I checked again and it's back to normal.

Google says "The X icon appears when Google Chrome detects high-risk insecure content, such as JavaScript, on the page or when the site presents an invalid certificate. The "https" in the URL is also crossed out when this happens."

I'm worried that I may have been attacked.

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.

I would say this may just be google chrome being funny. I have had chrome block sites before I know are safe and saying paypal had a invalid https secure certificate.

To be on the safe side grab the free version of ad-aware and scan your PC, ad-aware will find cookies and other little tracking scripts websites install etc so do not be alarmed if it finds a few results. Some are harmless but remove anything it finds all the same.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply LFFP. I did a scan with Spybot and it did detect some cookies, I forget which ones but I got rid of them. I just hope all is well. :s

I've had a few occasions in Firefox where a https: site has shown up as not secure and a refresh sorted it. I suspect that it's some section of the https: security routine that doesn't get loaded in time so the browser shows it as unsecure. Hopefully, that's all it is.

Did you receive any confirmation from PCS to say that they've received your order? If you did, you will at least know that you weren't on a spoofed website. (I can't remember how long after placing my orders I received the confirmation - I'm pretty sure it was immediate and I know it was "out of hours" which suggests that it is an automated system).

If you haven't received confirmation by Monday, you'll have to phone PCS. In the meantime, it's difficult to know what else to suggest - if you gave bank or credit card details on an unsecure connection you could have left your account open to fraud and the obvious thing to do is to contact your bank or card provider to see what they advise. To be honest, there's really not much that anyone here can do except cross our finger that it was just down to your browser not correctly identifying the secure connection.

Sounds like it's just your browser saying that secure status wasn't verified in time rather than saying that it didn't exist but if you're still worried, consider changing the password for whatever internet banking, credit-card etc you used at PCS. The only other option I can think of is to contact your bank/credit-card company etc and they can advise you - maybe close that card or account and issue a new one.
