I would hope that if you considered what you just wrote you would see how these metrics are skewed to paint a particular picture.

If you consider the link that you shared has the #gaming affixed to it, yet it claims to have tested using multi-core on geek bench 5 to test real world tasks...... that should tell you all you need to know about that particular gaming comparison.

3rd party reviews means real people actually testing components and comparing specific uses. Type hardware unboxed into youtube and have a look around at what a review should look like.
