That spec is awesome, I'm just worried about the GPU being way more powerful than the CPU and causing bottlenecks which is why I picked a more powerful CPU. I also need this pc to be a bit future proof as I'm going to be shelling a lot out for it. I like W7 Pro, I've been using it for a few years now and it has way fewer limits than home premium and I think much easier to use. I do plan on getting a second HDD at a later date but 250gb should be fine for now. Also, I've not seen that motherboard on the site, is it an older model?

Thanks

Looks good, but isn't that processor and motherboard getting old? Im also worried about the CPU being sub standard compared to the GPU and causes bottlenecking.

Don't worry about that the 4770 will not cause bottlenecking. By the time a GPU powerful enough for that to be an issue comes out, you will have upgraded everything else.

I'm not sure what limitations windows 7 pro has over windows 7 home premium for most users the only difference is lack of support for more than 16Gb ram, but for gaming you wont need more than 16Gb RAM. Unless you use windows XP mode or some of the other networky type functions (backing up to a network etc.).

That CPU isn't going to be bottlenecking anything. It is only fractionally older then the 4820k. In truth their is no reason why you shouldn't get an i5 if its just a strictly gaming setup you want. The main determination of FPS is the GPU, the CPU kind of takes a back seat these days. and the 4770 is probably not even a year old yet, I think it was lunched Q2 last year sometime from memory. That is not old. The motherboard supports PCIe 3.0 so its basically good enough for anything in the next few years before they whole system is obsolete anyway.

The 780 will run crisis 3 at 64 FPS, the only step up from that is a 780ti, slap an OC on the 780 and it will probably boost the FPS up nearer 70 so yeah it will work just fine for your needs.

Thanks guys, that seems like a solid system then. What about the monitor though? I've heard good things but I'm not so sure.

Ok, well then I guess I have a bit of money to save between now and June...Lets hope these components don't become too obsolete by then :)
