High Spec Flight Sim PC review

Hello All,

First time around PC Specialist and I am looking to buy a dedicated Gaming PC to be able mainly to handle the new FS2020, Prepar3d or DCS (not as demanding as the previous games) 1440p/4K/VR. I have spent some time in the forum reading some posts regarding high-end build ups and I would appreciate any suggestions. My idea is to have a PC not requiring any update few years down the line (I am aware technology advances go so quick). If any money can be saved by tweaking the quote will be great, however I am not concerned of paying a little bit more if that meets the goal of not upgrading in the "short-ish term". Mentions to pairing monitor will be appreciated.

Thanks for your time and patience.

Here is my build up:

I think @Scott is the best person here, as he is the VR geek. I'm not totally convinced that FS2020 will use all of the cores on that 3900X and I'm sure he's mentioned that some have actually turned off the extra cores, as it was causing lag. Maybe the 3600XT or the 3800XT might be better?

I have that SSD and it's great, but as with everything you can always go one better and get the Firecuda. OS and the games that you are currently hammering belong on the SSD, stuff like music/photos are best left on the HDD.

The Corsair H115i coolers are the bees knees but others are more clued up than me.

Your case is the Page 3 of cases (for those old enough to remember the reference!) and is highly recommended. There are others on the market that are quieter, but there's always a trade off between looks/air flow and noise reduction.

Get rid of Bullguard, it's bloatware

Thanks for your reply.

I have been reading his posts and I have made some amendments to my build up. Hope can be reviewed again. Scott seams to suggest the 3800X in different posts regarding MSFS2020 which I believe the most demanding game at the minute.

Cheers to all.

Hi guys,

I posted some messages regarding gaming only pc (MSFS2020, Prepar3d) building advice few weeks ago and after keep reading I have decided to build this rig to finally be paired with the monitor ASUS ROG Strix XG27UQ (4k 144hz). So I would like if someone can do the last verification check prior ordering.

Thanks in advance.

We love you Ukraine
I would up the PSU to the 850W, just gives you a little headroom, the 750W is about the lowest you'd want to go, best to give yourself some breathing space.

I'd also want a much more premium case on a build of that calibre. Case is much more than just looks, it's imperative to good airflow for the internal components. One of the corsair Crystal series cases would likely be most appropriate for this kind of build.
