Looking for any last minute advice regarding config for a home office desktop running Linux.
Main (stress) activities are financial modelling in R and photo processing using darktable (with very occasional use of DaVinci Resolve). Everything else I do could be done with something a lot less spec'ed. I'm not into gaming - the Graphics card is for opencl parallel number crunching (R, darktable, DaVinci Resolve). From what I've been able to understand - for opencl it is best to use the CPU onboard graphics for driving the desktop and using the discrete graphics for opencl. The RX 6700 XT was chosen because I need more than 8GB VRAM for datasets and the 6700 seems to be best bang-per-watt with a TDP of 160W. My questions really relate around the case, powersupply & CPU cooling. What I've chosen seems to be what works with the PCS website logic. Not sure if there is anything to be gained by going for a CORSAIR 650 TXm? I'm a little concerned with the cooling using the AMD standard cooler - but nothing else is allowed by the PCS website logic. If I change case then the PCS website logic flags that the video card will not fit.
My question regarding ordering from PCS is whether - I can specify a not before delivery date? As I'd like to order before I travel for business for a few weeks - but have it delivered after I return home. Any ideas? Thanks.
