I can't use 365 because somewhere i am in places where there is no internet or mobile. Nothing saved on the cloud etc. That' why we bought this version of windows so we can use word on the plane and excel to show the plan - thats all we need.

That they forgot the card is not a problem. But I pad for extra fast delivery, which i got, but i can;t go on - have looked at my PCSpecialist page and can;t see anything - i think they simply forgot - but i don't have this time - already i am missing a meeting but i am caller number 1 - what do i do?

If PCS refund your Windows licence I suggest you find a way to download either Libre or Open Office, they are as good as the Windows version and free. Just need wifi or an ethernet connection for initial download.

The link I gave should I believe allow you to download Office for either a keyed version (the one you bought) or Office 365

Someone else may be able to tell you where exactly the key would be found for it in your PCS account - I'm afraid I just don't know though - and yes it is possible they forgot to add it to you account, but I wouldn't think that happens often, but errors/oversights can just happen

Check your emails as well, often they’ll send out software keys via email. Check spam folder in case there’s anything there.

And all is now nearly solved - sent my deputy to the meeting and stayed on the phone. At 10.15 i was answered (at 9am i was second in the queue) - turns out the digital license was not created which is what caused the problem. 3 hours on the phone for them to find their omission. The guy who does it is currently stuck in snow so I hope it will be sorted out this afternoon

Frankly I would say very poor customer service. they could have answered the email with a quick note saying the license had not been uploaded but it is there now, click here and follow the instructions and a 3 hour marathon would have been a 5 minute sprint!

If you read other threads and the comments from an actual PCS employee you will see that due to the sheer volume emails are taking approx 5 days to answer.

Thanks Spyder. the omission does not bother me, people make mistakes or forget things that is not the issue. What bothered me is how long it i taking to put right. A simple email should have done it

You are absolutely right, once they key is there it will be a very easy job (especially with our internet speeds here) to complete

Hopefully, today, they will put the key in place

So spoke to Chris this morning - the key had not been prepared for me

Chris phoned back this afternoon at 5 ish, the key was ready and he activated it but it did not work. He then had to speak to his colleague as he had never seen that before. Took him until 2 minutes past 6pm to get it working

I would never have achieved this myself

In the end it is all done and the st, we are also facing staff shortages and extra work because of the pandemic, and i had to send someone else to do my job so i could get this done. Today was fine, next time, maybe not. I need to work with someone who has better customer service so next time will check that first

At the end of the day, if on Saturday they had replied to my email - we are very sorry, we are very busy, but we have booked you a slot for 10am Wednesday. i would have been happy because these things happen and i could manage my time. Instead they kept me hanging on the phone and missing meetings and that is not sustainable.

I always tell my colleagues, you measure a company by how they behave when things go wrong. Despite Chris being a stalwart PC Specialists were far from special and i shan't use them again
