How does this look?

The system will be used primarily for music production on Cubase 5 and FL Studio 9 but I also do a bit of gaming. Having all the graphics up full doesn't bother me too much and I only have a 19" "standard" monitor so res' doesn't have to be high either. I've also got an Echo Mia Midi soundcard that I will want to fit when it arrives.

I'm guessing the case is OK and the more expensive options are for really top end machines?

My current system is a 3.2 ghz Core 2 Duo with 4gb RAM and an 8800gts, will this give me a big enough jump in performance?

Hi,

Not a bad start. The hard drives could definatly do with a upgrade and you could go for a Sandy Bridge system as they are newer and better performance.

What is your budget and we can sort something out for you.

Taking advice from LFFPicard, this is a sandy bridge build you may consider:

This will have no problems with your requirements and will be faster in performence :).

As LFFPicard had mention the HDDs could be upgraded as the normal ATA drives are quite power consuming and its performence is not as good as the caviar blacks.

Thanks guys, that's very helpful! This looks great. My budget is around 950 realistically so I can just stretch to this sort of cost.

Is the Graphics card going to be OK? I haven't kept up with these properly since the days of Vodoo cards. :p
