How does this look...

thank you! I like the look of the build you've suggested! I'll definitely take your word for the storage - I'm not particularly knowledgeable about this.
Martin knows his stuff and he compiled a great build above, I'd say it's a good move to follow his lead

Sorry, I wasn't very clear on that, I will be gaming on PC only - getting rid of my PS5. I currently use OBS on my laptop but would prefer to run it off of one PC if possible. May not be ideal but I think it would be better for me...
Oh I understand now.
The 5800x will be able to handle gaming and streaming on the same PC. The only caveat is if you were looking to be playing competitively, then utilising the capture card and laptop to stream would be a possibility, but we’re talking about squeezing out a couple of extra frames here. Valuable if you’re playing in a tournament or high ranked match, but for 99% of gamers it isn’t necessary. A lot of people on twitch game and stream off a 3600, a 5800x is going to be great! 🙂

Also, agree with the above regarding m.2 drives.

amazing! thanks for your help! In terms of the capture card then... I dont need it if streaming off of the same PC as it will just be a screen capture on OBS? However, the capture card would allow me to run the stream from my laptop and save some more performance for gaming?

That’s exactly right. I’ll reiterate that the performance drop if gaming and streaming on the same PC will be very small. Normally I wouldn’t mention the capture card option at all, but as you’ve already got a laptop and capture card it was worth mentioning in this instance.

Firstly. thank you to everyone who has helped up to this point - I have changed my mind again...

I think I have decided to go for a 3070 instead because the lead time actually works quite well for my situation... However, what else will need to be upgraded if anything??

The 5800X has a reputation for getting a bit toasty so I'd suggest swapping the cooler to a Corsair version. You'll also be able to drop the MX-4 paste as it'll come with good stuff pre-applied :) (y)

You'll also want to get a 1440p monitor to do the card justice...

The budget is also slowly creeping up from the last build you posted, I suppose it is payday afterall!
@AccrusC if you could tell us your current budget? (and if there is a little extra now try not to get too carried away 😉)
The monitor you gave is a solid 1080p monitor, but your current spend might mean you can fit something like a Samsung G5 which is about £300 and an excellent 1440p monitor.

amazing! thank you!

And yeah I know the monitor is a bit of an issue but my thinking is that I know i will upgrade that, and even if the current monitor holds back the performance slightly, i would rather have that extra capability ready for when I do upgrade!

I'm not sure how i've never come accross this before! looks like a good monitor! very decent price for it too!

I don't really have a budget... But realistically I don't want to be spending much more than £2,250. My "budget" has gone up as I've done some more research into parts that I would actually want, The extra money will go a long way for me and hopefully mean the machine would last longer before certain upgrades are needed!

So, Call is £2250 .
Take £350 for the monitor, £1900 for the build. Do you have keyboards etc or anything else that needs to be considered??
Windows than can be transferred? Any storage drives you plan to add to it?

I think, given its been 3 weeks, worth a fresh look with the adjusted budget to see what build would suit.
