How to know what case to get?

This is my first time building from this site and I have a full setup already chosen but I want to buy my own case from a different website and then send that in as my case for my particular setup. my only problem is I've seen that cases obviously need to have particular spacing and certain things to be right for the chosen specs and I don't want to mess up and choose a case that my specs don't fit in, I'm not sure how someone could help but it would be great if you could.

My specs are listed below and the case I was specifically looking at was the Obsidian series 500D RGB premium mid-tower case listed on corsair

We love you Ukraine
The 500D is a superb case, the two main components that are a factor are the GPU (lenghwise) and the radiator for the H115i.

The radiator is a 280mm one, but both those components will be absolutely fine in the 500D, it will pretty much fit anything you throw at it.

Excellent choice.

What's the build for though? It's a bit unbalanced, you should be able to crank the GPU up to the 3070 with a few tweaks.

What's your max budget?

What monitor are you pairing it with, what resolution and refresh rate or make and model if you're unsure?

the build for pretty much everything mostly gaming and some basic video editing and streaming, so nothing too intensive but my main objective with the build was to make it really powerful so I could run games at high res with 2 monitors. my max budget is probably around £3,000 inc. VAT but the cheaper the better, I am 100% on the processor, so whatever matches the speed will be ok.

With the monitor, i don't have a specific one in mind but I am planning on going for a 4k monitor with slightly higher fps 144hz one if I can find one that isn't too expensive, but I more care about the looks of the games than the refresh rate so 4k 60Hz would suit me perfectly fine

It's not powerful enough for 4k 144hz, currently it's specced as a mid range 1440p build.

Can you provide the configurable link at the bottom of the quote so we can edit it?

Oh really? I thought it would have been completely enough, heres the link, thanks for the help, by the way, I am really grateful
This is better balanced if you want 4k 144Hz, but TBH, a superwide like the Samsung G9 would give a far far better experience all round:

This does actually look really good, my only problem is I'm not sure a superwide monitor would fit, I can barely fit standard size, but I can definitely find one that'll suit my needs.

you wouldn't happen to know how to how sending in my own case works would you? because I'm not quite sure how it does or what i have to do.

If you can't fit a superwide, then a 4k 144Hz would pair well, but they cost around £750 for an entry level option at around 27". Personally for 4k, I wouldn't go below 32" as it just makes everything a bit too small, that's coming from someone with a 28" 4k monitor.

There is ONE possible compatibility issue with that build with the RGB RAM which can encroach on the radiator being placed on the roof (which is the optimal place). But that's easy enough to change and PCS would notify you if that's the case.

As to sending in your own case, you just order it yourself from Amazon or somewhere, and put the delivery address as PCSpecialist and have a mention of your PCSpecialist order number somewhere on the delivery address.

There are particular details here:

The Ultimate Choice!

We know that sometimes it doesn't matter how many cases we list, there is always the one case that you love and you just have to have!

At PCSpecialist you can select the "Send In Your Own Case" option and send us your case, and we'll manufacture your computer for you using this case.

Requirements
  1. The case needs to be no larger than 600mm x 300mm x 630mm (H x W x D).
  2. The case needs to be no heavier than 24Kg, otherwise a delivery surcharge will be applied.
  3. You need to complete the form on ordering to inform us the make and model of case, so we know what to expect when it is delivered!
  4. You must send the case using your own insured courier. We cannot be responsible for any damage when the case is delivered to us.
  5. It is unlikely that we will re-use the case packaging - we will most likely ship out the computer in our own specially designed packaging, so you will not receive the original case packaging.
  6. You are responsible for making sure that the components you order will fit into the case you send to us. See the checklist below.

Instructions
Upon placing an order with the "Send In Your Own Case" option - all you need to do now is send your case to: PC Specialist Ltd Unit 12 Jubilee Business Park, Jubilee Way, Grange Moor, Wakefield, WF4 4TD

Case Checklist
  1. Motherboard size must fit into case - for example if you are sending us a micro-ATX case, you cannot order an ATX motherboard.
  2. If you're ordering a high end graphics card, check that the case is large enough to accept it.
  3. Check the case can accept the number of optical drives, 3.5" devices and hard drives you wish to order.
  4. If you are ordering a large CPU cooler, check that the case does not have a vent/fan preventing the installation of the cooler.
  5. The above list is not exhaustive and ultimately the responsibility lies with you to ensure the components you order will fit into the case. If we determine during manufacturing that some components will not fit we will contact you to discuss amending your order around the case you have chosen.
