Hybrid DVD burner?

Hi, I bought my computer from here quite a while ago now but I just wanted to double check something. I've noticed on the desktop configurer the default DVD drive is a hybrid drive meaning it supports both DVD-R & DVD+R discs. Does anybody know if this has always been the case or more specifically was the case when I bought by computer from here in late 2011? Because on the drive lid it says it's compact disc rewritable With a RW logo and DVD+R DL under that. There's nothing there that indicates it supports DVD-R discs. I just need to make sure of this. Thanks.

Can't be sure unless you happen to know what the brand & model of the DVD burner you have is. Although I would imagine getting either DVD+ or DVD- discs now should be pretty straightforward :)
