I5-13600K pc - need help checking everythings compatible!

So had a laptop for years which is below average, did a job of basic tasks but even struggles with that these days. A lot of the things I used to like doing I just cannot do on it such as Video Editing, Photo Editing, playing decent games on there, even Football Manager and Age of Empires II struggles :/

So I did research on the processor and I gather that the i5-13600k is a beast of a processor but is the whole unit compatible with each other? Is the Case of decent enough quality ventilation wise or will i have problems? Should I have better thermal paste etc.
Basically be good to gauge feedback from people who know what they're talking about :)

The case is bad, I'm afraid. Also the cooling is insufficient, the GPU is really not great, the RAM is slower than ideal. I'd also question the CPU, but it might be a good call if you do a lot of video editing.

A few questions to help us get you something better:
  1. What games will you be playing?
  2. What budget do you have?
  3. What monitor will you be using?

Thank you for replying and in answer to the questions, gaming wise I'll be playing Football Manager, so appreciate 3D isn't it's strong points, but from there I'd love to give more graphically intensive games a go such as F1 Manager. I have a PS5 for gaming, but if there's something not on there, it would be good to use the new PC for it.
So the graphics card isn't the be all and end all but I want there to be a decent one, but will I be playing Call of Duty intensively? No, at least not at first.

Budget wise I'm looking at £1,500.

Monitor I was looking at this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-LF24T450FQUXEN-F24T450FQU-Monitor/dp/B08DMWZDZG/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3FLYWK3FKTJV8&keywords=LF24T450FQUXEN&qid=1685125674&sprefix=lf24t450fquxen,aps,178&sr=8-1

I reckon this PC would be a lot better for you... as long as you also get a better display than that one! For FM it won't matter at all (and my guess is F1 Manager won't need high framerates either) but you definitely want to go for 1440p. Maybe the AOC Q27G2U, or the Gigabyte G27Q.

Here's the system I'd recommend:

Really appreciate that advice, thank you. I gather though that the processor wouldn't be as good for anything that uses multi core? which I gather FM doesen't use.
But is it a case that the other things within the AMD route balance it out?

Multi core stuff generally means things like video editing, code compilation or other super heavy tasks. Very little in gaming would fall into that category. Certainly FM is incredibly undemanding, so you'll be fine.

And yes, the platform benefits to AMD (including power efficiency and upgradability) are massive.

On this link its now coming up as £1,325 but the menu has been defaulted to 8GB. Is 32GB 6000Mhz no longer available?
Also I see a lot of things in this forum swaying people away from Intel, is this purely because of price or is it because AMD is better quality too/just as good etc.

AMD are what Intel were 5 years ago, Intel are now the poor performer, expensive even with worse performance, and very hard to keep from thermal throttling so you have to spend more on ultra premium cooling.

6000mhz has been pulled currently due to stability issues with the current emergency BIOS that restricts voltages. They’re working on a proper fix, but PCS have to provide stable systems so have temporarily stopped sale of 6000

cheers for the info guys re. AMD vs Intel. I did have an AMD back in the late 90s but it didn't end well, however I appreciate this was years ago!

Gonna with the Graphics card of the AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT and the Ram is
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 5200MHz (1 x 32GB).
Case wise, gone with the top one PC Specialist offer but no idea if it's good at cooling.

If anyone can shed any light on the spec that would be great!

Looks good, but that case is worse than the one I suggested. For a mid-range case, I'd suggest spending £8 more and getting the Fractal Focus 2: it's a great option for your build.

I'll be using the PC for Football Manager, F1 Manager potentially and Adobe Premier and Photoshop
The thing I'm struggling with though is that would this system be upgradeable much in the future? Also the monitor, would this be good?

Just to add, I don't have a clue about cases, what case would be good for this to ensure it doesen't overheat but also looks cool and isn't too large - appreciate the smaller the case, the less airflow though

I wouldn't pay any attention to that site. It considers the process node size to be a significant thing you should pay attention to, which is so spectacularly wrong that I distrust everything else they say.

An AMD card will probably largely be ok for Premiere Pro, but mostly Nvidia cards will significantly outperform an AMD card.

was about to purchase the spec above with the CORSAIR ICUE 465X RGB GAMING CASE, but it says the graphics card is 31cm and the case only supports cards upto 30cm - damn.

Is there an alternative graphics card that is similar price/similar spec but is shorter?

Did post a fair bit in another thread but didn't purchase, however I'm about to take the plunge now but I've had to amend the case as the previous one I was going to use was too small apparently.

When making up the system, it suggested I downgrade the Power Supply too and with the 512GB hard drive I was selecting out of stock, I've had to change this too

Are there any pitfalls with this system?
