i5 gtx570 -gpu upgrade help needed

I bought a pc specialist desktop rig a year or two ago, and have been very pleased with it... and now want to upgrade the graphics card to the best that's currently possible.

my rig's details:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce gtx570
motherboard: ASUS P8P67
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz
Total Physicel Memory: 16.0 Gb
power supply: corsair tx750
case: coolermaster hal-x full tower

would cards like the GeForce gtx 780 and the radeon 7990 be wasted on a rig like mine?

for this rigs spec - what would currently be the best gpu upgrade (gpu is for playing bf4 and need's ports for a 120hz monitor) ?

thanks.

hey thanks for the quick reply Keynes...
i don't really want dual cards.. just one powerful gpu. ( if i was going dual it would have to be crossfire as my mboard does not support sli.)

im suprised my old'er setup can handle cards like the 7990 / GTX780...
wouldnt i need to OC my CPU to fully use a graphics card like the 7990 ? (my CPU should be OC'ed if i remember correctly.. although i cant see any oc software installed...)

its a liquid cooler black with writing "ECo.ALC Cool it" on it. windows/nvidia software just shows 3.3 ghz - i'll need to research software to show such things. (possible its 3.3 after OC?)

the 7990 is dual .. is the gtx 780 also dual?

A GTX 780 would partner up lovely with that processor , cant see any need for an overclock , it doesnt help much for games anyways , i only did it because i had the cooling there for it so i thought why not ?

PSU is strong so no need to upgrade that

Plenty of ram so no issues there & the case is great .

I personally wouldnt go with the HD7990 , its a dual chip card , yes its more powerful than a GTX 780 , but this means crossfire , its full of issues with radeon , you could go for a Titan , but i dont see this is worth it for 10-15 extra FPs in a few games & the GTX 780 outperforms it in a lot of other games as well

ok, so a 780 is close in cost to x-fire 7970's / R9 280's i'll need to read on this a bit more..
thankyou for the help.
p.s - i welcome any opinions / advice on the fore-mentioned cards.
