Iconico info

Hello everyone! Hope you're all good!
So I've recently got my iconico laptop and I can't seem to find any information on it anywhere. I have searched the net and the forums, I don't know if I'm just being dumb or if there isn't anything out there 😅
To be honest, I just want to know what the button left of the power button does. I push, hold it down, pretty much all you can do with a button, but it doesn't do anything. It's lit up and stays lit up too.

Anyone know what it is or why it's not doing anything?

Thanks guys! 😘

I've made some video reviews of mine, you can check the YT channel TheMacco26 and there is a full playlist for my Ionico.
It's the Intel RTX3070 variant mind you. If you have AMD version, something might change (e.g. can't undervolt).

It would be helpful if you could actually answer the question rather than just pushing your Youtube channel :)

On my first read I didn't catch the precise question you made at the end of your message.
That button serves as the Power Profile switcher, between Office, Enthusiast and Turbo.
Those mega-profiles can be setup in your Control Center, that you should have installed. If not, go in the download portal of PCS and install it ASAP, it gives so much customizability.
I call those mega-profiles, because in the CC you can prepare 5 sub-profiles for each category, with a total of 15 (5+5+5). But the button will switch every time to the 3 mega-categories only. From the CC you'll decide which sub-profile must be invoked as the one for Office, the one for Turbo, etc.

It's pretty hard to explain by words, that's why 'a picture is worth a thousand words', someone wiser than me once said.

People are not paying anything to watch that 10 min video, nor forced to watch it. And believe me, it's not that the other 9 mins and 45" sec are out of topic or advertisting mobile games, lol. They still speak about the product people seek for 100% of the duration.

I bless the presence in this world of people like Jarrod's Tech or OWNorDisown or Bob of All trades. You can learn so much from their videos. Even if they are not exactly aimed to the laptop you own.

I have actually watched this video before. It doesn't answer my question though. I'm pushing the button and it does nothing. The video doesn't explain why that's happening.

My following message helped, instead? Some of my videos show you how to work with the CC, but if you haven't installed it yet, that's a thing you should solve primarily.

Have you done what Macco says and checked for Control Centre? or Gaming Center?
Yeah, there's nothing there that relates to that button that I can find. I mean, I see the profiles, but nothing changes when I push the button. I've gone through everything.
Also my control center is a little different from the one in Macco's video. Like it says SPC Settings instead of Overclock Settings.

Can you check your device manager to make sure you have now "Other Devices" or ones with yellow triangles indicating that some drivers might be missing?

Thanks.

It's fine. SPC are the terms used by the CC when paired with AMD CPUs. So you definitely has the latest CC. Well, then in the Profile selection screen (see below) your button will switch to that I name there as 1, 2 and 3.
For 3, as an example, you can customize up to 5 sub-profiles. But once you set, like 3.3 the one you have as default Overboost, your hardware button will switch among 1, 2 and that 3.3. If you need 3.2 you'll have to access the CC.

Each profile can have a specific settings (to be set in the other page) like: Power limit for the CPU, for the GPU, Max Temperature for CPU, Max Temperature for GPU, GPU Core overclock, GPU Mem Overclock (don't touch the last 2 too much, crash may happen), Can set the GPU power limit, the GPU Dynamic Boost, etc.

Thank you so much for this info. I see when I switch to profile 1, the light on the button turns off, and when I go to 2 or 3, the light on the button turns on. But the button itself doesn't make a difference or change the profile when I push it.
Also I see you have 25W, 35W etc. How do you change the profile to limit the CPU and GPU to such a low power. I've been trying myself but I can't figure it out haha. My CPU is reaching up to 96 degrees when I play MS Flight sim and I'd like to limit the CPU so it doesn't do that.
Again, I really appreciate the help dude, you're a diamond!

The light on your button will be off = in the CC equals to 1st profile
Then you press once = button lights up at mid brightness= 2nd profile
Then you press another time = button lights up at max brightness = 3rd profile.

How to change Power Levels etc. are things I've made a precise video about (not the initial review), but I can't discuss it here apparently. Frankly it would require enormous amount of words to describe here by words.

I just figured out that I have to push the button quite hard in order for it to work. It is working now though luckily.
Ok no problem buddy, I'll check out the video. Thank you for your time mate!
