Imagine how amazing the 13.3" Lafité III would be with notebook Ryzen APUs.

I've made a mock-up of the specs we might be able to expect if the 13.3" Lafité III was updated with the Ryzen APUs when they are readily available. Underlined shows the original (since I couldn't figure out how to do strikethrough) and italics shows the new spec for the Ryzen APUs. If there was a laptop with these specs for a similar price that I put the new price as I would be extremely tempted to buy it.

They're both technically out, but the R5 2500U is the only one that you can buy in a laptop as of right now. But that's why I put

I read your post.

It was a question, not disputing what you're saying.

Pascal was out in May 2016, but not readily available for some time after that. I wasn't sure if they were actually on sale even notionally. I hadn't seen any laptops with an R5 2500U yet, not that I was looking closely.

Having a google now I see one (it was surprisingly hard to find).

Yep! (This is a link, btw, because it doesn't seem to be very obvious) TL;DR the R5 2500U has similar CPU performance to the i5-8250U but with over 2x the GPU power (somewhere between a GT 940MX and an MX150). This is why I'm very excited for the R7 2700U since that should keep pace with the i7-8550U on the CPU side and should be about the same as an MX150 on the GPU side.
