Intel i5-13600KF with RTX 3070

I'm hoping for feedback on how good this build is for gaming. I plan to use it for games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Heavily modded Skyrim/Fallout 4, and the Halo games. I'm not too fussed about playing on the highest graphics settings but would like to if this build can support it.

I'll not bother posting my almost identical build then - would have beaten you too it if I hadn't been trying to squeeze a 6800XT in the budget

When will that part release? I'm not planning on waiting a long time since I have the money now and I'm terrible at saving, so I don't want to end up spending it on something else. If you have a recommendation based on currently available parts I'd love to see that.

It's release on the 6th so Thursday week after next

If you put through the order now with a placeholder like the 7900x, then you can amend it once the 7800x3d is released. Won't affect your build time.

It is set to release on April 6th - so not too long to wait if you can hang on. I am not sure how long it will take for PCS to source the part following its release.

PCS are a partner so they'll have stock on release date, unless of course it's a paper launch but I seriously doubt that after the issues with the original 5800x3d during th pandemic

That's not too bad, I might be able to wait that long. Also I may need some alternatives to some of the parts that were posted in that build. I'm quite set on the case I selected for my initial build, but some of the parts won't fit in the case. I would need a smaller power supply (I'm pretty sure 1000w is way more than I need anyway), and a smaller processor cooler as the case I want only supports coolers with up to 240mm radiators. Any recommendations?

The PSU is only more powerful...it shouldn't be physically any larger...although the configurator may warn you that it's too powerful...but it's just the configurator being cheap!

The PCS cases are not premium-level, and are built to appeal to the price-conscious more than the 'enthusiast'. Unfortunately if you're really keen on the white (and or pink) aesthetic, then your choices on the configurator are limited. However, you can source and send in your own case from elsewhere...but then it would be up to you to ensure everything will fit.

The case you selected isn't great, it's a very budget case that isn't a well known quantity and if it's to house these parts for potentially the next 10 years you want a good well tried and tested case which the Lian Li is.

If you're absolutely set on a white/pink case you can buy your own on amazon and have it shipped to PCS to use. You'd have to make sure all the parts would fit though

As for the PSU that was selected with the idea of this build lasting 10 years so it's to allow room to make upgrades without having to swap out the PSU. The parts have been getting more and more power hungry with transient spikes being a issue on GPU the massive PSU to account for all that

Minimum I'd honestly recommend these days is 850W but with this budget I wouldn't plan for minimum I'd want bells and whistles and this is bells and whistles only with a 7800X3D when it releases in a couple weeks

Thanks for the advice. I'm completely new to this as this will be my first proper PC. At the moment I'm using a potato of a laptop that struggles to run Skyrim on the lowest graphics settings. I think I'll get my own case then and send it in, as I am pretty set on a white case.

Oh that looks pretty nice, is that exactly the same as the black one? Just so I know everything will fit.

I'd recommend the below and I think you can get them all in white and should fit all these parts

4000D - CPU cooler will have to be front mounted, not ideal but it'll work
5000D - Bigger version of the 4000D with some nice quality of life features. Will fit the CPU cooler roof mounted which is ideal
Lian Li 215 - One above you can get it in white
Fractal Torrent - One of the best on the market but can get quite pricey
Fractal Meshyfy 2 - Again Fractal make some of the best cases around but can get quite expensive

All great choices but I'd say the NZXT is a significant drop in quality from the the Fractal offerings. I think it only takes the H115i front mounted as well which isn't ideal but it's a definite option

EDIT: Seeing the Amazon prices I'd go with the 4000D over the NZXT if the CPU couldn't be roof mounted I'll check here shortly

EDIT 2: Yeah the NZXT can't take the H115i roof mounted only front like the 4000D

Is the Lian Li 215 better than the 216? I like the design and it's cheaper, so if it's better or there's not much difference then I might get the 215
