Hi everyone,

Just received my Ionico 17" today. Best specs available, see below:

Ionico Series: 17.3" Matte QHD 165Hz sRGB 100% LED Widescreen (2560x1440)
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen™ 9 Eight Core Processor 5900HX (3.3GHz, 4.6GHz Turbo)
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair 2933MHz SODIMM DDR4 (2 x 16GB)
Graphics Card
NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 3070 - 8.0GB GDDR6 Video RAM - DirectX® 12.1
1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3300MB/W)
1st M.2 SSD Drive
2TB SAMSUNG 970 EVO PLUS M.2, PCIe NVMe (up to 3500MB/R, 3300MB/W)

I am concerned performance after checking thread on this forum from a user who bought almost identical laptop - same size,GPU,CPU,RAM. Link here
As you can see this user got score: 10279 I ran 3 tests and highest I've got is: 9645

Not sure how big of a discrepancy this is, but regardless I'm asking for help here..

I did 3 tests using Timespy. Power mode: best performance in all tests. Choosing different Control Center settings in 3rd test only.
Button next to power button always on (I assume boost?).

1st test score: 9621- nothing installed/updated, but steam and timespy.Link
2nd test score: 9645 - highest score I've got. Installed all but optional windows updates, avast and nvidia geforce experience. Link
3rd test score: 9486 - same as 2nd test, only differences: Control Center Performance -> Turbo Mode. + Fan boost activated. Link

My question is how do I check if it's as performant as it should be? Am I missing something?

I really like many things about this laptop, thank you PCSpecialist team, but since it was so expensive it is natural for me to expect it to be performant and I'd rather not have it returned..

Edit 3: Finally hit a great score: 10298 Thanks for help! @SPYDERTRACKS

Thanks for the support! After adjusting wats in Control Center was finally able to achieve this. Also MUX switch helped a lot.

Can you post the full specs? We need to see the entire order if possible?

Don't want to be rude, but please.. This is from PCSPECIALIST.

I put everything in spoilers for easier reading.
Oh, I was looking in the detailed specification which is actually the info you've put in the full spec section, apologies.

Have you installed the optional updates yet? The system isn't configured without them, those are driver updates.

I would also then manually install the latest chipset drivers:

Are you using Avast? I would strongly recommend fully uninstalling that. Windows defender is far superior and I'm betting you'll get a better score without it if benchmark scores are important to you.

Have you set the MUX to dGPU only? That will boost performance also.

There's quite an in depth thread on the Ionico here which goes into a lot of detail on how to maximise performance, the early versions of the BIOS disabled the MUX, but ignore that, I'm pretty certain yours will be on a much later version than that, so it should have the MUX available:

I appreciate your effort and quick response, gave a like!

Did everything as instructed, altough avast is still there for the moment, Thinking about kaspersky security cloud instead, I just feel more comfortable with some kind of antivirus, but windows defender..

Anyway, just ran a benchmark again. Got score: 9834 Which is the highest one so far! Thank you, I feel good about this machine now. :)

Will go through the thread you linked.

Thanks again, will see what else I can do to optimize performance and hit 10000 score in timespy then let it rest I guess.

Windows defender has actually won awards for the last few years in a row, it's very highly rated, it's not what it was back in windows 7 days.
