Ionico 17 inch laptop specs/advice

I have been looking for a new gaming laptop recently. I initially went with the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 G733ZW 17.3" 240Hz WQHD Gaming Laptop (Intel i9-12900H, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070Ti, 32GB RAM, 2TB SSD however I found that the light bleed on the screen to be too much to accept and ultimately returned it. I have been looking at the Ionico laptop and put together the configuration below.

However, I found it a bit odd that there aren't options for dual ram set up on this laptop other than at 64GB. 64 would be overkill for my needs but I do believe that generally dual ram set ups are better overall. If anyone has any insights on that I would be grateful. I was also wondering if anyone who has ordered similar laptops recently has any feedback regarding how common or severe light bleed is on the screen? I know it mostly comes down to luck of the draw with such things, my current laptop had no issues for example. Just quite frustrating spending such money only to have very noticeable issues like that.

DDR5 currently comes at a huge premium, theyve added a few laptop models recently as well that might be worth looking at.
Should also note new cpus are due around autumn along with new gpus and motherboards, so maybe worth holding off to see whats added then?

Have looked at some of the other models that would have 12th gen and newer rtx cards but they all seem to be limited to 1080p panels. At this point I feel like the minimum spec I would want in a screen is 2k so I kind of wrote those ones off.

I suppose I could try to remain patient but I've had my current laptop over 4 years now so I suppose I've been itching to upgrade.

When I was getting custom laptops, my aim was 5 years of use... but I know the feeling you describe.
I also completely get wanting a 1440p screen, its a bit baffling they have 3080 cards in some of those laptops but 1080p screens... especially given how slim the designs are... i'll be 100% honest, I wouldnt buy a single one of them atm.

Id want 1440p screens, suitable GPU, some actual depth to the chassis and vents/cooling and i'd also want to wait till the new AMD cpu's came out, they're looking like a huge leap over current gen (including intel) so keen to seen the laptop versions.
I also wouldnt want DDR5 RAM unless the price significantly improves or the latency on it comes down, DDR5 barely has any gain over DDR4 atm due to its high latency (roughly CL38/40 compared to CL16/18 with DDR4 atm) yet costs much more...its all marketing gimmick to be honest until thats improved.
