Is My Configuration Suitable?

Hi everyone,

It has been a very long time since I built a PC and I’m very out of date with the current tech. I‘m contemplating ordering this configuration (specs below) but just want to check before I hit the green button. I need something that can run all of the modern games like GTA, Cyberpunk and DOOM on at least fairly decent graphical settings with good processing power to handle heavy modding. I also plan on Sim Racing in the future and plan on upgrading when the time comes (hence the larger power supply). Unsure if this is overkill or underpowered for my needs. I’m very much function over form and I’m more bothered about sufficient cooling and quite operation than looks.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Josh

Frankly no, it is not suitable.

What is your budget? What monitor will you be using?

£2,000 (ish) not sure on the monitor yet, I have a MSI MAG 27C6X at the moment but will also be looking to upgrade.

Would 10% over budget (so £2200) count as "ish"? If so, I've put the build I'd go for below. It is quite different: AMD rather than Intel and Nvidia, no hard drive, and liquid cooling. I'll include points where money could be saved as well.

Note that this really wants to go with a 1440p or 1440p ultrawide monitor. Decent examples are £200-450, depending on what specific things you want.

Case
FRACTAL FOCUS 2 ARGB GAMING CASE (BLACK)
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Eight Core CPU (Up to 5.2GHz/104MB w/3D V-CACHE/AM5) This is the best, but you could go for the 9700X instead: you may not even see a performance drop in many games if you are going to 1440p

Power Cable
1 x 1.5 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead, 1.0mm Core)
Processor Cooling
CORSAIR NAUTILUS 240 RS ARGB HIGH PERFORMANCE CPU COOLER An air cooler would be enough for the 9700X, and if you won't be doing heavy all-core workloads, would realistically be enough even for the 9800X3D
