is my M.2 drive failing

Hi guys My son bought me a 500Gb M.2 drive from Crucial which i cloned my ssd drive to afer installing it 3-4 months ago
I had a mbr boot issue after 1 month right after i formatted the original boot drive (now drive D)which i was able to fix using macrium7 and the drive has been running quite nicely.
this morning when i booted in there was a message that said my drive was at risk of imminent failure and that i should back everything up now.
I saw this message 1 time when the pc was new and booting from the original 500gb ssd drive, apparently my wife said now that she saw this message 1 time about 6 weeks ago. escaping the bios and booting normally goes without a hitch, any ideas what could be going wrong?

Firstly, make sure you're on windows 10 21H1 before proceeding.

Can you still boot it successfully?

If so, it would be worth running a chkdsk on the c drive and see if it returns any bad sectors, if it does, that drive is faulty and needs replacing. If it was bought new, it will still be covered by manufacturers warranty.

BTW, don't attempt a chkdsk /r on it to repair the bad sectors, that's only relevant for HDD's and will likely cause it to fail outright.

If it comes back as healthy, try running a chkdsk /f which should repair the file structure.

The 'your drive is failing' message most likely comes from the SMART data for the drive. If you download CrystalDiskInfo you can display the SMART data for that drive. Post a screenshot here.
