Is my spec good for gaming and is the extra case fan needed please any advice?

Hi guys so this is my first ever pc build and I just wanted to know if I've done okay after hours of looking up stuff online and if its suitable for max settings 1080p gaming and then some. I also wanted to if I needed the extra case fan or is that overkill? I was paranoid that placed at the top there would be nowhere for the heat to dissipate through because of the case design I could be being dumb here please help lol the case comes with 3 front rgb fans and one rear one. It says has room for fans at top but it looks like where the radiator would go is on the side? Do I need better thermal paste and is the support bracket necessary or just for aesthetics? Didn't realise I had to copy that too lol apologies 😅 and to be honest it's purely for gaming at 1080p maybe abit of Netflix too but highest my budget can go to is £1800 this build is currently sitting at £1718 was thinking to change the ssd to Samsung instead of pcs own brand but If there's no difference I won't. And TIA 😊 🙏

Mate I can't recommend 1080p for this budget you can get a good 1440p no problem in that, also I'd recommend waiting a few weeks the new hardware is likely to be released next month that brings new processors, new motherboards, new GPU's, new RAM and new SSD's

Strongly recommend waiting and you can do so much more with your money it's a very healthy budget

Thank you lol online research said the rx 6600 would struggle max settings for some games whereas the rx 6650 xt can run max settings smoothly across the board at 1080p and can hold its own at 1440p which I will eventually get into when I can afford a top range monitor currently looking at asus tuf gaming monitor 144hz 24inch 1080p for now and will the new hardware being out make my build potentially cheaper ?

Before going any further just don't buy anything at the moment, there's a whole host of new hardware just about to be released and you'll get far more power at the same budget.

I'd be wary of that research. The 6650 XT is essentially a mild overclock on the 6600 XT. It'll perform a little better, but it won't be a massive leap.

Funny enough I was going to just go for the 6600 xt but for some reason it's more expensive than the 6650 so it made sense to me 😅 why is the 6650 cheaper on pcspecialist than the xt lol im not complaining though lol

Different motherboard and different memory. Different storage would also be an option, but probably not at this budget. There won't be a graphics card release in this tier for some months, though, so you're probably not going to be looking at a different graphics card. (And it sounds like the 6650 XT is a good bet given the prices, then, surprisingly!)

Would you recommend I vamp up the ram from 3200mhz to 3600? And go for the Samsung storage instead of the pcs own brand storage ? And should I ignore what I see online then as apparently the b550 f gaming board is a good match for the gpu ?

So you would recommend that motherboard with 2 m.2 drives second one for storage and no 1st storage ssd option ? I did see pre built pcs with 256gb m.2 Drive and second 1tb m.2 drive someone I use to go to for pc advice said I only need 1 m.2 Drive and 1tb ssd storage does that make a difference or is it just in terms of speed ?

You only "need" a 5400RPM HDD from 2006 but why would you use that?

It's a modern machine mate use modern storage and storage methods.

The price difference is absolutely worth it,we already know that for sure, there no question.

It's a common misconception that new generations means more expensive, just isn't true.

DDR5 may be a little more expensive initially but as adoption increases price will lower. But it's still going to net you substantially more power per £ on this new tech.

So in technophobe terms it's faster to game with 2 m.2 drives instead of just OS on nvme and 1tb ssd sata for storage im sorry im new to this lol

Correct, don't forget whatever type of drive it is it can only read or write one operation at a time, so if you have it all on one drive its trying to run the OS and the game all at once
