Is the Acer predator x34 worth it?

So I was just wondering if my rig could handle the 1440p ultrawide. Or should I go for a 1080p ultrawide?

My specs are:
Intel core i5 6500
Geforce GTX 980
8GB Hyper x fury
550w power supply

My superclocked 980ti can easily handle the X34, but you do take a hit compared to a 16:9 ratio monitor.
GTAV at high settings goes from anywhere in the 80's down to the low 40's in frame rate. Although that is my 980ti doing well I am looking forward to Pascal/Polaris so I can stay at higher frame rates. The 980 is going to do a bit less well obviously but it will be fine if you don't expect to be hitting 100fps across the board. (the monitor has a built in optional Hz display, which when using G-Sync is also the fps, which is very handy)
I do think that getting my x34 is probably the last monitor change I will ever have to make until it wears out or if the far future brings tech we haven't imagined.
If you experience a large monitor at 1440p you will never want to go back to 1080p. For me 1440p is a lot more important than G-sync or higher than 60Hz.
