Is this a good gaming build? Any advice?

Hi

I have been playing around for months on a build and finally settled on the below specs, basically gaming only.

I was contemplating the i5 10600k for a while but I think im sold on the below CPU.
I have decided to leave the GPU out of this for now until stock is available of the RTX 3060, as I have an old GTX 770 I can use temporarily.

Im looking for powerful and fast but also affordable.

Thanks!

Great choice on the CPU, AMD is way ahead of Intel at the moment and the 5600x is a fantastic gaming chip.

What is your total budget?
What monitor do you have? Make/model or resolution/refresh rate would be handy to know. This will help us double check what GPU would be a good pairing for your monitor.

Sorry for the very vague information, I have an old BenQ G2420HDB, this was given to me years ago from my old job.

A monitor is something I should have mentioned, I plan on buying a new monitor once I manage to get my hands on an RTX 3060 or any decent GPU for that matter!

For now im just using an old monitor.

I am trying to get my hands on most of the build now, then buy the GPU and monitor once the GPU is available, so really to add to my question, what would be a good afforable monitor for the RTX 3060.

My total budget with a monitor and GPU included (eventually) £1500 total.

Fantastic advice, thank you so much.

I will definitely go ahead and get this build bought then!

Thanks again
Build-wise I would make a couple of minor changes before purchasing.
Swap the Intel m.2 SSD for the PCS one; the intel is notorious for a short lifespan.
Upping the PSU to a 850W RM gives more room for upgrade, and also means the PC spends less time under load.
Silver warranty for a fiver is also well worth it.

Can I clarify something here: Are we talking about getting a 3060Ti (that's how I read you initial post regarding stock) or are we talking about getting a 3060 non-Ti when they eventually release?

I ask as they are different levels...if it's the Ti then you want to be looking at 1440p 144Hz monitors
I was assuming regular 3060, as I didn't expect to be able to get a decent 3060ti build plus monitor for £1500. Saw your build came in at ~£1660 for both in other thread?
