The CPU, storage, PSU and cooling are far from ideal. The WiFi card is old technology and is better replaced with the AX200. Silver warranty is worth an extra £5. Bullguard is best removed, as it has been reported to cause problems.

The vast majority of people cannot see the difference in refresh rates much above 120Hz, so 240Hz 1080p is not really the way to go. Most gamers would benefit from 1440p over 1080p 240Hz, but your budget would struggle to achieve that.

My budget is about £1400. I only want 1080p resolution and would rather focus on performance and FPS. Can anyone help?

Thanks

What refresh rate is the monitor you'll be playing on? 60hz, 144hz, 240hz?

Also to answer your question above, Palit is a brand of AIB, like ASUS or Gigabyte. From the models I've seen come from PCS recently, I'd expect it to be a Palit Dual

The monitor is 240hz. Thanks for the reply

No, not yet
Ok, I think you're falling into the "competitive" trap.

I'm guessing you're coming from console?

Have you ever played at high refresh, do you understand what competitive gaming means? 1080p is really poor these days, it's a really low quality visual experience. The idea is you lower settings as low as possible, and preferably reduce resolution to 720p. So it looks utterly awful but runs really fast. For the 1% competitive players in the world paid an absolute fortune per match, it means the difference between £1M first place prize and being 2ms slower with a $10,000 second place prize.

For the rest of use, you won't notice any difference whatsoever over 120Hz or thereabouts.

YouTube influencers who get paid millions for ad spots will tell you high refresh will DEFINTELY make you a better gamer. It's utter nonsense, but they literally get paid millions to say it. They don't care about what's best for you, and most of them don't understand resolution and refresh rate anyway.

The difference between 1080p 144Hz and 1080p 240Hz is minute, visually no difference at all, all it does is gain you about 2.78ms in response time (if you can see that which again, most of us can't)

The difference between 1080p 144Hz and 1440p 144hz is HUUUUUGGGEEEE, it's a far far better gaming experience.

Yes but when there is a situation in whatever game I'm playing where there is stress on the fps I want it to still be high. Also my friend plays on 240 fps and says he can feel a slight difference between 240hz and 144hz. Also, yes I am coming from console😂 and that means I am used to 1080p. I also don't play any story modes in any games and am more of the 'competitive' type. In games I play such as call of duty warzone I would play on max FOV which would lower my fps massively and I still want to have good frames. Are you sure 1080p and 240hz isn't good for me?

Yes, so you've only ever experienced I'm guessing 60fps, but in most games even 30. Basically in gaming terms you've been on the lowest possible rut. The leap even to 1080p 144Hz would really surprise you, but to 1440p 144Hz, you wouldn't even recognise it, it would blow you away. The difference in 60fps and 144fps is significant. Between 144Hz and 240Hz, it barely registers. I'm guessing you didn't actually look at the links I put up, that puts it in basic numbers that can be understood better.

Are you sure 1080p and 240hz isn't good for me?
I'm 99% certain that if you played on one 1080p 144hz system, one 1080p 240Hz system and one 1440p 144Hz system, you would choose the 1440p system every single time as would anyone else coming from console.

If you're not interested in graphics at all, you don't care that it looks like a game from 20 years ago and terribly pixelated, then you're probably a competitive player.

If you care at all about the quality of the gaming experience, then you're definitely not a competitive player and 240Hz wouldn't make the blindest bit of difference.
Also my friend plays on 240 fps and says he can feel a slight difference between 240hz and 144hz.
This literally means nothing for you. As already said, what works for one person won't work for 99 others.

I can attest to this. I went from playing on XB1 (1080 30fps) and PC at 1080p 60hz to 1440p 144hz and literally never knew gaming could be so good. I'd wholeheartedly recommend going for 1440p 144hz right now- it's a fantastic sweetspot for gaming. The sharpness of 1440p is incredible and compared to 30/60 FPS, 144hz is like butter. Trust me, it's an expeirence that'll blow you away.

If you really don't like 1440p 144hz once you've tried it adnd think you'll do better with 1080p 240hz then fair enough, at least you've given it a go but I seriously doubt this'll be the case. Plus, for 99.9% of gamers, if the monitor is the only thing that's holding you back, you should be doing it professionally already.
