Is this worth the money Laptop build?

Going to be using this for gaming and work stuff gaming mostly I want something that's going to last a few years just want to know if this build is worth the money and have I gone over board for what I'm gonna be using it for can i shave a few things off and save some bucks?

For the overwhelming majority of gaming, an i9 9900k isn't necessary or good value, and an RTX 2080 is massive overkill for 1080p gaming. You didn;'t specify what work stuff is, but unless it really, really needs a desktop class CPU rather than a 6-core, 12 thread laptop CPU (9750H), the Vortex is a much better option. A very powerful gaming laptop that will last you pretty much as long as the Octane before you need to replace it. And when you do need to replace it, or want to replace it, you'll have £1000 in the kitty.

nice cheers dude. yer work stuff is just online training emails and document storage mainly so no worry there.
i travel for work and wanted something to play decent games in my downtime. also how is the heat? id use the laptop for long periods as well as gaming for extended periods on my days off dont want something thats going to get too hot.
i see the 15.6 recoil is far off that price either with the same specs is there much difference between the 2?

The Vortex has gsync, like the Octane, and the Recoil doesn't.

Also the 15.6" Recoil has the 2070 Max-Q which is a lower powered 2070 and barely any better than an RTX 2060.

Also it's not much cheaper - unless you meant the "GTX" Recoil rather than the "RTX" Recoil, which only has a GTX 1660 ti instead of an RTX 2070.
