Issues with Games Crashing on New PC

Hello!

Recently I received my PC from PC Specialist and everything runs great except for when I play certain games such as GTA V, Phasmaphobia and Genshin Impact. The games load fine, but once I am in game they crash after a few seconds of movement. I lowered the graphics in Phasmaphobia and it now runs fine but given the specs of my computer I'd imagine I should be able to run games on high graphics with no issue.

This is my first PC so I'm kind of at a loss here. I've tried making sure all the drivers are updates, uninstalled and reinstalled the games, and messed with their settings.

Any help would be appreciated!

I've attached my specs below

I think the user would have been back if they still needed help. My guess is that they sorted the problem out themselves.

I've been having issues with my PC freezing and applications crashing while running them. It happens with all games I run on my computer and also happens when I run multiple programs at once. The freezing/crashing issue also occurs when running programs such as Adobe Suite and Autodesk Maya.

I have done a few tests on my computer and they fail when testing 3D graphics. I've completely reset my PC to scratch without any success, uninstalled and reinstalled the graphics drivers with DDU, tried running applications without external devices plugged in, changed power sources, etc.

The issue could definitely be something other than the GPU but from what I've looked into that's what makes the most sense to me. I could be completely wrong as I am not very knowledgeable when it comes to this sort of stuff at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am quite lost!

Can you export your System and Application logs for me please? Upload them here (or to the cloud with a link if they're too big). Here's how....

1. Enter the command eventvwr into the Run command box. The Event Viewer will open.

2. Locate the Windows Logs folder in the left hand pane and expand it by clicking on the arrow (>) to the left of it.

3. Right-click on the Application entry and select 'Save all events as...'. Choose a folder anywhere that suits you and a filename of 'Application-forumname' (an .evtx suffix will be added automatically).

4. Right-click on the System entry and select 'Save all events as...'. Choose a folder anywhere that suits you and a filename of 'System-forumname' (an .evtx suffix will be added automatically).

5. Upload the Application-forumname.evtx and System-forumname.evtx files to the cloud and add a link to them in your post.

I've gone ahead and done that. Here's a link to them on google drive, let me know if you have any trouble accessing them.

When you first received the PC did you run Windows Update until no more updates are found?

There are multiple errors in your Application log, mostly with exception code 0xc0000409 (stack buffer overrun), 0xc0000096 (privileged instruction execution attempt) and 0xc06d007e (unknown software exception). These all point to either a corrupted Windows installation, which shouldn't be the case since you bought a copy of Windows with the PC, or a corrupted or bad driver.

In your system log there are a handful of errors reported for the nvlddmkm driver, this is your Nvidia graphics driver. The text for this error says...
The description for Event ID 14 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on your local computer

Putting the two logs together it seems that there is a problem either with your graphics driver or (possibly) with the graphics card itself. I would suggest you try the following....

1. Remove the graphics card and then reinstall it fully. Sometimes stuff does move in transit.

2. Uninstall the Nvidia graphics driver with DDU, the system will reboot, then download the latest driver for your card from the Nvidia website and install that. Don't select any Nvidia Audio components.

3. Open an elevated command prompt or PowerShell session and enter the command sfc /scannow. If that reports any errors that could not be corrected let us know.

Hello, I've gone ahead and tried everything you suggested and I'm still having issues with crashing and freezing. The command prompt didn't report any errors that couldn't be corrected.

Hello, I've gone ahead and tried everything you suggested and I'm still having issues with crashing and freezing. The command prompt didn't report any errors that couldn't be corrected.
Then I'd suggest you do a fully clean install of Windows, it's the only way to tell whether your issues are software related or hardware related.

Unplug all external devices except one monitor, keyboard and mouse.
Get a new 8GB (min) USB stick and use the Media Creation Tool to download the latest Windows 10 install files to that USB stick.
Boot that USB stick and click the big blue Install button.
Select a Custom Install.
On your system drive (the 512GB drive) delete all partitions. All the space will show as 'unallocated space'.
Click that unallocated space to select it and then click the Next button. The installer will create the correct partitions strcuture and install Windows.
Run through the initial Windows setup. Take your time, be sure you know what every screen is about.
Then run Windows Update repeatedly (even across reboots) until no more updates are found.
Download the AMD Driver & Support Tool and use that to install the AMD chipset drivers.
Download the driver for your RTX2060 from the Nvidia website and install it manually.
Do not plug in any other external devices.
Do not make any configuration changes to Windows.
Do not install any other software (except for those I indicate below).
Then install just ONE game, whichever one crashes most often, and try to make the game crash.

If it will crash in that state then you likely have a hardware problem and you should contact PCS.

If the PC won't crash in that state then your hardware is likely fine. Plug in your external devices one at a time, installing drivers if necessary, and then test the game after each one to see whether it will crash. If it does then suspect the hardware you just plugged in (or its driver).

Once all your external hardware is plugged in, install another game - pick one that typically crashes. Test that game (and the first game) thoroughly to see whether it will crash.

You now need to proceed carefully and slowly, one software product at a time, testing fully after each install to be certain the problem isn't some software you installed.

Okay thank you. I'll run through everything you suggested then get back to you with the results. I appreciate your help!
