Do PCS run sales in January? The reason I ask is that I'm thinking about upgrading my (very) old pc to something a lot more shiny, but I don't want to spend hours agonising over every little detail of what I can squeeze into my budget, if in a couple of weeks time I could get an entirely better machine for the same sort of cash..

I was kind of hoping they would - still, I suppose I can slice a few quid off the price by buying the accessories, such as the monitor via external means.
I have to wait until January regardless.

Thanks for the replies people. Shame they don't offer sales though, but I had a feeling they might not since I guess there would be no Xmas overstocking to worry about clearing. Will play around with specs and stuff at a later date and see what I can come up with - no real rush since I'm guessing Xmas/New Year slows it all down anyhow.

Budget wise the top end would probably be around 1k, but the less spent the better. Usage wise, I just want to play recent games, such as Skyrim, on decently high settings. Not a lot for you to go on there I realise!

Edit: Should add I don't need a monitor or stuff...

You'd save the ££ but lose the Sli Upgrade opportunity, if you don't want to upgrade to Sli in the future then this is sound advice.

Thanks for the replies all. Basing it on Music Guy's spec; I've downgraded the motherboard as suggested and also dropped the power supply to 600W (as presumably this is quieter?), which clicking through the quote didn't flag any problems. I did also drop the 2TB hard drive to 1TB, but oddly this came out £6 more expensive(!) so I've kept it at 2 for now and managed to bring the total cost in at under £1k.

Will order in the next couple of days, so if anyone has any further feedback for me to consider that would be great thanks.
