So I've just ordered the Optimus pro xi for £1379
But I am seeing lots of reviews that say parts break and the laptops are very hot and loud also this can be expected I guess but I'm just very worried about all the reviews they even made me think about cancelling my order, so I want some reviews from people who have bought laptops from here and used for over a 1+ year
Thankyou in advance and here are my specs

The BSOD Doctor
If what's worrying you is the number of posts on here reporting problems then you should bear in mind that everyone who has a problem posts on here looking for help - so we see 100% of the builds with problems. Those whose build works perfectly very rarely post on here - so we see probably only 1% or 2% of the good builds.

As far as your asking for reviews is concerned, see above. Those people who are perfectly happy with their build rarely, if ever, visit here so they're unlikely to see your request.

One reason why so many of us buy from PCS is because their after sales service is excellent. If you do get a problem PCS won't spend weeks quibbling over whether it's a problem at all and then whether or not it's your fault. If something breaks, and electronic stuff does fail unexpectedly early sometimes, then PCS will fix it for you. To that end I would suggest that you amend your order to include the Silver warranty at least, to get the benefit of 1 years back to base carriage (£5) or even the Gold warranty that gives you two years back to base carriage and two years parts warranty (£69).

I have a PCS Optimus IV laptop that I bought in 2013, it's still working perfectly. Initially I had an annoying WiFi issue and PCS shipped a new WiFi card for me to install which fixed the problem permanently (yes, I could have sent it back for PCS to install but I chose to do it myself). :)

Agree with Ubuysa. Currently I have a old Vortex laptop from 2012 and it has never been a problem up until the past year roughly. The WiFi spends more time disconnected than connect so am using a homeplug at the moment, it is a heavy beast so rarely moves - other than that it works ok but like any computer of its age it is showing its age.

The only problem I had was a dead pixel shortly after arrival and PCS were more than happy to log it and me send it back to them outside the 30 days as I needed the laptop at the time. I think it went back nearer 2 months after delivery and was back very quickly.

I have that itch now to replace it, mainly as I am getting heavily into Photography and there are a few games I have my eye on that this laptop will not run. Photo editing works 'ok' but when I watch my parents with new laptops (2 x PCSpecialist (Optimus Pro) last year) then that itch to replace gets stronger.

Like you I am looking at the Optimus Pro XI but with the Ryzen chip and different hard drives but that is what makes PCS so good, you get what you want. Am currently just waiting for more users to get their hands on the Ryzen version and give some feedback.

Also, this chassis is only a few months old, so you may have been looking at older chassis in which case it will differ significantly.
