Keyboard Layouts

The only thing stopping me ordering a Vortex IV/SkyFire III is the bad and inconsistent keyboard layout in the photos/video. Is it possible to get a confirmed photo of the UK layout?

I want a UK keyboard with the normal two row return key and backslash to the left of the Z key and the Windows key left of the spacebar.

Is there anything I can do to achieve this? Is it possible to buy and fit your own keyboard to these laptops? I can't understand why they'd modify the standard layout for no benefit. I hate the small return key, it strains your weakest finger, slows down typing and causes hand pain.

Not sure of what the issues here are really but you can probably get a good idea of what keyboard is supplied looking at folk's reviews of the Vortex IV/Skyfire III in the Show off your PCS PC section of the forum here: https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?38-PICS-ONLY!

That should hopefully answer some of your queries. For a more rapid response I'd suggest giving PCS a call, they will be able to confirm what the exact layout of the keyboard they are currently installing is.

I know I'm a bit late, but the keyboards depicted in most of the stock photos are what is known as US ANSI. It's one of the most widely used keyboard layouts around the globe, hence why it is used for stock images. When ordering your laptop, there is an option to select the keyboard layout. As PCS is a UK company, the default option pre-selected is UK layout, so you'll get the UK ISO layout with the big enter key and pipe, @ and " in the place we're accustomed to. Selecting the drop down, you can select other European ISO layouts or the US ANSI keyboard if you want.
